You first registered today to ask me if I attend Church regularly. First I thought it was funny since my floor arrived so maybe it is like I arrived in a religious fashion? But then I checked when you registered.

lynn - congratulations! I thought my BC was too brown at first as well. I was used to the really red Home Depot stuff that was probably stained and not natural. The Bellawood is just a clear coat, you can see where they beveled a piece to transition to my kitchen (no T-mold there since some tile was loose - just had 15 sf in kitchen and 25 sf in foyer replaced today - on top of 30 sf of each that was replaced last year!).

Anyway, I still would have preferred red like Bloodwood, but you have seen my floor and liked it, I'm sure whether your floor gets redder or just darkens (American cherry just darkens, won't turn red, I'm not sure about BC) you will love it once it's installed.

Since when did churches/religious affiliations, start soliciting members on the internet? Maybe I'm behind the times or something.

ajsmama, I think like you, I would have loved a wood like Bloodwood since the red color is what I wanted. If BR-111 sold Kempas, I may have went with it but I was afraid to go with Kempas after reading problems Hartco's milling had with it despite feeling it would be more red. In all since I like most of the pictures of Brazilian Cherry, I feel I will be happy once the floor is installed and the floor oxidizes to get the rich reddish colors.

My allergies were bad all night and today which I feel is a combination of the wood outgassing through the boxes and the muggy weather outside which most likely is causing my mold and weed allergies to act up. I have not had allergies in awhile except for bad allergies so I stopped going for allergy shots. I may have to call a new local allergist (my other allergist is too far so I just keep putting off going) to continue my allergy shots since they had helped me so much and in August and September are my worst months. Hence, the wood in the family room, is probably to me like someone just painted the walls with a low VOC paint and I will be patient and wait for the outgassing to lessen.

I am still excited about my floors but I have to finish some work before I can get back to emptying these rooms, paint the walls in the two room home office (the wood is being stored in the third room on the first floor which is open to the other rooms)and having my floors installed so I can post pictures of the beauty of the wood.

Thank you Red for your encouragement. I can't wait to share pictures once the floor is installed. First I have to finish up a few deadlines, then empty the rest of the file cabinets, move the cabinets and furniture, paint and then install the floors. So I am sure it will be more than a week before I can share pictures.

I am excited also and can't wait for the floors to be installed. I just read that the Pollen Ragweed count was up there today in my area and I am very allergic to Ragweed so maybe 2/3 of my allergies last night and today is the ragweed (I used to go for allergy shots for Ragweed and Weed allergies and I guess I better go back to an allergist) and the other must be just the new wood. Hey, I had a problem for a few days with the pine slat box under my latex bed that had nothing on it but freshly cut pine. So I am not worried anymore. I have two air cleaners blowing.

I may call BR-111 to ask if I can open the ends of the boxes to air them out and help acclimate the wood.

I finally found out why this client's cash did not come out. He has outstanding checks from 2006 & 2007 that should be voided out that he did not tell me about. It looks like I will finally be able to finish this job so I can get back to my floor situation. I can't wait to see the floor installed.
