Hanging a 30 x 30 piece of metal art above my bed.
Comments (10)I stood in the hardware aisle for ages trying to resolve the same problem. I wound up purchasing two of the finger pulls for a window sash, and mounting them upside down on the wall so that the curved portion held the metal piece up. The piece I had had sort of a frame, so the bulk of the hardware was hidden behind the frame, and the curved portion blended in. The link is to an antique reproduction, but there are cheapos at the big box stores. Here is a link that might be useful: Sash lift....See Morehanging 2 14" x 18" pictures over Bed help
Comments (2)A good trick I've learned is to cut out a couple sheets of butcher paper or something to the same size as your artwork. Then tape them on the wall where you want and see what looks best. You can dink around with the spacing to your heart's content without putting a million holes in the wall....See MoreWhat is hanging above your bed?
Comments (20)Nothing..sunny California and all (but even if not-I'd be hesitating..frankly..unless it's something really small, light, no glass is involved) My son does have a small canvas though above his daybed(a present we brought for him from our travels)..but that thing is really light, and stays unframed so it will continue to be light We do have an upholstered headboard, print on color, subtle one but still..and we have art leaning on both nightstands, and sconces too, and lamps..so it's not like the space is begging for something anyway. I feel it's a good balance, right now. We do have art on the opposite wall(big, leaning for now)..another small painting on the other wall..another bigger one also leaning, on the dresser.. It's still unfinished room of course, to me, (I'd like to get some very very narrow storage..like very narrow open shelving, or something along these lines..and of course I want more art which I always want) but it can stay like it is now for years too, or so I feel...See MoreHelp with hanging art above tv?
Comments (14)Rearranging the book cases really is more visually pleasing, Celery!! I would remove the far right tiny book case and the far left white banner, for sure. I have to agree there is a lot going on and before your art will ever be seen you need to deal with the busy of that wall. Right now the wall cannot handle another thing for eyes to bounce from. I also think the new shape, circle Celery added is a better fit than your art. I think I would need something larger to balance over that TV anyway....See MorePines Everywhere
