I have only had my peace lillies ( yes I have ended up with 3)almost 3 months now but I have learned from each one of mine They each are different as far as watering so I have to watch them each day to see if they want a drink. One I have blooms a lot, one still has blooms on it, and one never has bloomed. I am very glad you are enjoying you new plant and if it makes you smile then it is always good. An iris farm?!? Now, I'm jealous. It has been muggy here, which is unusual, and the plants seemed the worse for it. I ended up with everything in the kiddy pool. Yes it made the pool muddy. Nope, no kids here, except the grown ones! And my furbabies. ! My puppy LOVES to play in his pool, and dig and chew plants. At least he used to chew plants, he is much better now. So helpful. There was a time when he would go out in the yard, find whatever I had put in the dirt and pull it out. (Like a treasure hunt.) Hopefully next year it will all be a different story. I've said this before, but the last few years of my parents' lives were the hardest thing I'd ever experienced. Maybe that means I've lived a charmed life? Aging eventually gets all of us, so maybe it's not all that uncommon for us to find ourselves "in charge" of our own parents. I don't know. I just know that the work involved in trying to manage my own parents in that situation was the most emotionally draining of my life. It just goes on and on and on because everything changes constantly - and you get some plan put together and then it all falls apart again. Rinse and repeat. You expressed this so well. I'm just beginning to discover the truth of what you wrote, although it's been unfolding for over a year now. And it can feel like it hits - when it hits - all of a freakin' sudden, which leaves you very little time to get your feet underneath you. You just have to instantly get up, go, and do the things that must be done. I'm beginning to understand the old saying, "What doesn't kill me makes me stronger." But sometimes it feels like it just might come close to killing you in the process, doesn't it!
