Well, it isn't done yet, so I haven't done the photo thing except for questions people post about specific details (butcher block, copper, pantry doors, eg). So my photos are kind of, well, not flattering. And not representative of the overview.

But you made me SOOO happy!! I'll try to take more photos when I get home tonight, so I can better show the stuff that's there.

I think the insert may be 40" for a total capture area of 42", but I'm not sure. It's a Ventahood.

I think we have the same faucet and soap pump...Copper, right? I am in love with mine, after using it for a little over a year. Someone else has one, but I can't remember who it is. My motivation was simply to have a copper faucet, but the plus is that I enjoy using it.

I read a thread a week ago regarding the plastic head of faucets and I must confess that I never thought of this when ordering. So far, so good, with no pitting, tarnishing etc.

Most of my fittings were from Kohler, but I believe I had to go to Moen to get the matching soap dispenser. I can't really remember now.

Claire de Luna has the copper Moen Aberdeen (there are probably many others), and I thought this was their version of ORB, but maybe it's an antique copper or something. The soap dispenser is Moen's also.

I have to say, this soap dispenser has been a pleasure: It doesn't drip or clog. Much as I loved my Brizo Floriano faucets and the look of their dispensers, the dispensers just didn't work as well as these moen dispensers.

Crystal, I really appreciate your comment about materials choice, because to some I'm sure it appears to be a jumble. I really like the various woods/rock and copper we have, but the mix is probably not for everyone. And, as time goes by, and I see so many wonderful kitchens on this site and the FKB, I've developed a love of white and contemporary kitchens as well!

Mustbnuts, thank you also: I love my Aga, the burners, the little ovens and broiler (but I also cheated and have a full sized oven for pizza, cookie day, etc on that end of the island). I initially just despised stainless, and wanted enamel for that reason alone, but now I appreciate stainless, and am still glad we bought the Aga. It was a floor model at my local appliance store and I became completely irrational about it. WHen we moved it from the old house we replaced it with the Kenmore Elite/frigidaire 40" stainless range (moved the cabinet a bit) which is a much perkier range than I had expected.

The clock came from the back of a dusty shelf at my pharmacy, no markings/ID, and no box. Sorry. DH travels a bit and I like to keep the most likely locations up to date. He actually uses it when he's home now!

Pig is a watering can from MIL, but I'm pretty sure he'd feel happy as a towel pig (he loved his winter cap and is a big seahawks fan).

Over the past couple of years we have remodelled two and a half kitchens, two baths and essentially a whole house "thing" in the house we are living in. Just now we are finishing up the old house to put on the market, and once that's done I'll complete this kitchen (Backsplash, baking center counter and sink) and then post. In the meantime, you all have brightened my day considerably! Thank you all!

Beautiful kitchen! I love the cabinets. Whose are they? Also, the copper is gorgeous. I don't know much about using copper. Is it difficult to maintain? Does it have problems with hot pans or anything else? I just closed on a house on Friday and I'm going to do my first kitchen remodel. I'll be keeping pics of your kitchen as a reference.

Color! Color! Claybabe, what paint color/brand is on your walls? I have already bought the same Moen Aberdeen faucet in copper and am wondering about complementary wall colors, especially in the terra cotta and yellow tones -- your kitchen is truly lovely. Congrats!

Carecooks, good luck and have fun with your remodel: It's great to be able to make a place your own. I'm kind of envious that you are just starting...WAIT what AM I saying?! The cabinets are from a local cabinet maker, natural cherry. The copper is NO care, but I like the patina. Definitely not a surface for people who don't want drips and splotches to show.

Circuspeanut (funny!) the paint is Sherwin Williams, Fireweed and Blonde. I decided to try matte paint this time around because I didn't want the sheen to interfere with what I saw. DH thought it looked a little third world, but, I believe, is used to it now.

Boysrus2, I promise more island photos tomorrow evening. There are drawers, a sink with a lot of stuff jammed into it, an oven, and a small wine rack. Oh, and a secret place. I'll try to get some representative photos tomorrow. Thanks for your patience. It's only a slightly better mess tonight (a week's accumulation), but I'll spiff it up and shoot it.

oh yeah, and mustbnuts, it's verde fuoco on the island.

I saw a lavender AGA 36" on a floor sample sale. Believe me, if I could fit a 36" stove in my small kitchen, I would have chosen different granite, paint, etc., and gone with it. Would have been a very different kitchen but would have done it.

OMG, Claybabe! I know I've already told you these photos prove to me that this is an even lovelier kitchen than I initially thought! It's certainly inspiration enough to make me want to ditch my plans for a white kitchen altogether! :) I cannot get over the cabinetry, especially the island. I'm also loving the contrasting crown molding over the uppers. And the archway entrance, lighting, countertops -- all of it makes me swoon. Question: Can I just move in? I think it would make my whole remodel process a whole lot simpler. You seem to have the built the very kitchen I didn't realize I was dreaming about, Aga and all! LOL!

Sorry about that messed up first line. Here's a quick paraphrase of what I meant to say: From the first photos you shared, I knew your kitchen was way cool. But, with these last ones, I'm totally convinced your kitchen is da bomb!

I love white/off white kitchens, now (that I've been on this site for several years) more than ever. And I toyed with the idea of a white kitchen for this place, but it didn't seem to fit in my mind's eye (mind is feeble, eyes are failing). And I'd only had a short time with my new cherry kitchen at the old house before we moved, so I didn't think about it too hard. DH was against a black island, and while I still think it would have looked great, I like all the wood. It just seems to suit us. But I appreciate your kind words: I love that I'm sittin in da bomb!

I was looking through old posts and found your kitchen. I was searching for one that had the dark molding at the top of the cabinets. I am thinking of doing something similar but put in the dark island also. What do you think?
