7 year old Ramona in trouble ~ help!
Comments (5)Hi again ~ I finally got Ramona cleaned out a bit (with much care) she is truly beautiful now that the dried sticks n' twines are out of the way & her blossoms do not get so contorted trying to flash open. However the yellowed few foliage are hanging on & not browing & some are mottled ~ is this a symptom of something remediable? My ? a bout dog peedles is because she is planted at the foot of *No Parking* post ~ people walking dogs made me wonder ~ I have a set of folding wire fencing around the base to discourage them....See Moreany help getting my 3 year old to sleep
Comments (3)I think it is quite normal for him to go to bed between 6pm and 8pm and wake at 6am. All kids seem to wake up early when they are little. If you want him to sleep more, perhaps you could make his room dark, with a dark curtain so the light is not getting in. I guess you are asking how to deal with him when he wakes up at 3am ? Perhaps you could expand here, as to what happens and what you do, as well. When my children were little I preferred that they went to bed at 6pm, so I used to deter them from naps during the day. How do you put your child to bed, does he go off to sleep under his own steam ? If he can't put himself to sleep, on his own, this would probably explain his 3am wakings....See MoreHelp, I'm desperate. My 7mth DD won't sleep
Comments (4)If you're in doubt, tape an 'episode' and show it to your doctor. Sleep disturbances can be caused by a lot of things. Flipping around, like a fish when asleep doesn't sound 'normal' and it does sound like it might be worth mentioning to your pediatrician. Infantile spasms might cause that kind of thing. Characteristically, the baby would alternate between flexing and extending at the neck (so their head is kind of bobbing) or at the waist (so their whole body is kind of into it, back and forth just flexing and extending). That might look like 'flopping around like a fish' especially when the baby was tired, going into or coming out of sleep. This page has a good description. http://www.epinet.org.au/info/infantile.html if that's it, then be careful not to panic because of all the different causes some are very severe, and some a lot less so but the thing is to get medical treatment because seizure conditions need good management as soon as possible to avoid or minimize any significant developmental delay that could occur (if your baby had been normal until this symptom at 7 months, then odds are they don't have one of the more severe causes)...See More3 Year Old daughter - Afraid of noises!
Comments (11)I think kids are attuned to different sounds than we are. The sound is there, but we don't pick up on it. We live a few blocks from a train crossing. DS (21 months) has just this last week started saying "choo choo" everytime he hears a train. Usually, I don't hear it until I stop what I'm what I'm doing. He's right, there is a train coming. I have blocked that sound out and didn't notice it. I consider it background noise. On the other hand hearing and seeing a train is a highlight for ds. I don't have any real advice since my child is still quite a bit younger than yours, but I would like to suggest trying the monster spray that I've heard about on the craft forum. You can use a spray bottle filled with water or a can of room freshener or something else sprayable, put a label on it, and call it monster spray (or whatever might fit your situation better.) Tell your dd that the spray should be sprayed under the bed and whenever she hears the noises. Maybe it will help calm her fears. Good Luck....See More- 14 years agolast modified: 10 years ago
