where to buy double bowl stainless steel sink

I'm getting new countertops and a new sink and haven't found a sink I like in any local stores, including lowes.

What I'm looking for is a ss combo that has one very wide (not deep) bowl and a little one. sort of like the link below (if it works) that I found on homecenter.com.

Can anyone tell me where they got their sinks and if it was a good experience?

Oh, ALSO, what are the different finishes for stainless? i mean, what is brushed vs satin vs regular? thank you!

Did you check out the Ticor sinks at Galaxy Tool Supply? I've just ordered one (although mine is a single bowl) so I can't vouch for it yet but the sinks are oft-praised on GW and the price is certainly great. And they have various two-bowl sinks like you're interested in. I've included the link. And if you just google double-bowl sinks or even just stainless steel sinks I think you'll find a gillion places to buy such sinks on-line.

I totally agree with checking out Ticor sinks. I had mine installed yesterday, and can't believe how happy I am with it. The plumber thought he was installing a Blanco, which was so much more money than what I paid! Mine is pretty deep (I bought the 405D), but it was what I wanted. I kept thinking that something must be wrong, but it looks so good. Plus the customer service was excellent and it arrived quickly. Definitely see if Galaxy Tool Supply has something that you are looking for!

I have a stainless single-basin Vigo undermount that measures 32" wide by 19" deep...that will hopefully be installed today (by me). This style of sink doesn't have an island or an insert for the faucet to be mounted, so a 22" deep sink wouldn't work for "standard" installations -- our faucet needs about 3" of clearance behind it for the handle to operate fully. So, from the front of the counter, we have: 2 inches of counter lip (on the skinny side) 19 inches of sink 1 inch (approx.) between sink and faucet hole 2 inches (approx) for faucet body 3 inches (approx) rear clearance for faucet handle We had to make the counters 27" deep to accommodate -- adding another 3 inches of sink would make a 30" deep counter, which wasn't an option in our space.

Believe me, there are NO plumbing issues involved. What MAY be an issue is finding a hardware store--or other source--for the parts you need to do a changeover. The best thing you can do for yourself is get down and climb under your present sink, the neighbor's sink, your family member's sinks, and familiarize yourself with the plumbing that's under there !! While you're down there, check for leaks, and use a ruler/tape measure to get an idea of sizes. Bathroom sinks are usually 1 1/4" diameter thinwall pipe; the tub/shower and the kitchen sink are, or should be, 1 1/2". One thing to remember: the 1 1/2" thinwall pipe hooked directly to the bottom of your sink, and tied into the "S" or "P" traps under there, is NOT NOT NOT the same as the 1 1/2" drain piping; HOWEVER--there are adapters to mate the thinwall to the heavier piping. By the way, you ARE gonna go to the store and find out what a "P" or "S" trap is, aincha?? Dont be afraid to ask Q's, and do realize many of the guys you ask are about as ignorant as you are when it comes to plumbing....many--not all of 'em. THEN: when you find somebody who sounds like (s)he can help you do this project, and they put down on paper the parts you need, the best thing you can do is repeat the process--go find somebody else at another store who can do likewise, and then compare the parts recommended, &c. Maybe this soundz like plumbing 101--you're right, it is. Anything else spellz disaster in the making, not to mention the resultant feeling you bin ripped off and jerked around, and that you coulda done a better job yourself.... if only.... you'd taken to heart the suggestion of: kenn 1RmSchlHse millersport oHIo -- there's a time and place for spontaneity....

You mean the Ruvati Roma sink RVH8350? The RVC model is a bundle of the same sink with a Ruvati faucet. Yes, Ruvati sinks are exceptional quality. I have been using a Ruvati Gravena sink for almost 3 years now. Solid sink: very heavy and thick. I don't have the Roma model with ledges for accessories, but for $469 thats a great deal for a 16 gauge sink with built-in cutting board and colander. Quality-wise Ruvati sinks are just as good as any major stainless steel sink brand like Kohler or Elkay.

@artemis, I did not love the Liberty at first since the patterns are oh so limited, but that was based on looking at the pictures on line. But once they are in your hand, they just feel so nice. @Kendrah, I am not trying to steer you away from European or American brands, but I would say that if you find a nice set that is manufactured in South Korea, you might be surprised at the quality. They have producing quality stainless for many, many years. Many of the mid-century patterns are gorgeous. If you have antique shops or resale stores in your area, you could at least hold the pieces in your hand. Lastly, if you get a vintage set off of Ebay or in a local shop and any pieces are missing, you could possibly find missing ones on Replacements.com (albeit expensive).

I got my sink at this place. My kitchen designer saw them at a trade show and was impressed by their quality. Check out their prices... amazing quality and value. I'm very happy with my sink.

Here's another vote for Ticor and Galaxy Tool Supply. I ordered the SS6502 one (see link) on Monday and it was delivered this morning by FedEx! Great service!

Also, as we were typing I received my faucets that were ordered on Monday from WSC direct - so I would vote for them too - fast and good selection. I think they have sinks too.

Try Faucetdirect.com, its where I got the best price on mine. One site that was recommended when I first came here that I haven't heard much about since is Siennasinks.com. MANY people get Ticor at Galaxy. WSC direct. Home and Stone. Homeclick. All have been recommended by various people here. I found one of the best selections and VERY good prices at fausink.com, but did not use them.

I didn't buy stainless (bought blanco silgranit) but got an awesome price at Home and Stone on ebay as opposed to ordering my sink at home depot (saved about $150!)

Shipping was free and my sink arrived on the 4th day after payment was made. They packaged it really, really well and I had no issues at all with them.

I'd highly recommend them as a distributor if you decide to go the ebay route. They had a large selection of stainless sinks on their website.

If you are considering Ticor and Galaxy Tool Supply, check them out on Ebay. I just got mine and it is wonderful!! the great thing about buying thru the Ebay store is you can make an offer instead of paying full price. the sink I bought was listed at $219 on Ebay. I offered $150 and got it. I am thrilled with the quality of this sink, and for such a great price.

A sink was a hard decision for us. I think so many people here buy really expensive sinks. I found a bunch of ss sinks on ebay and was concerned because I could save so much. I was concerned because I couldn't find what the catch was. looked at lowes and HD and could look at the cheap ss sinks and tell that they were cheap. I asked our granite guy about them and he said that is what he has in his own house and he can't hardly tell the difference when set side by side, so I took the leap and bought a sink off of ebay from sink direct. I have to say...It looks great, I don't think it looks anything like the cheap things at Lowes and HD. They had so many different shapes and sizes to choose from. Mine is a 1 deeper larger bowl and 1 shallower smaller for $120 shipping included, I just need to buy a second strainer because it only came with one.

Another happy Galaxy Tool Supply customer. My Ticor stainless sink was delivered pronto in mint condition for a great price which included grates and strainers.
