well, I don't know if you have ever sewn with satin or not but a.) it is slippery, b.) be careful with the pins - they might leave a 'hole' (pin in the seam area) and c.) you will probably need to use the layout shown 'for nap' as satin usually needs to be cut all 'the same way', i.e.all going in the same direction of the fabric. Other than those, I can't think of any other areas which might cause problems. You will need to pin, pin, pin the pieces as tis stuff is pretty slipery when sewing the pieces together.

I would recommend cutting out with a rotary cutter, pattern weights, and on the straight lines- a ruler. I've found that it's much more accurate than using scissors, even on curves. Pinning with pins and cutting with scissors can distort the fabric. I once saw Margaret Islander on Sew Perfect use tissue paper, when cutting out, to tame the slippery hand of slinky fabrics. Just put the fabric on top and cut as one. As barkertx recommends, I would be careful pinning too. Most of the time we can get away with simple pinning, but you might try hand basting the satin, in this case. It will offer you more control. I use silk thread for basting and sewing on these fabrics, it's strong and doesn't leave as many "holes" as regular sewing thread. I also would use tailor tacks for marking, instead of chalk or a marking pen as they can leave marks (ask me how I know, lol). Remember to use dual feed or pop the walking foot on as you sew.
