I think it's going to look incredible. I love the colors you've chosen. If it were me, after it's all done I'd see if I could add three pops of color with an aqua. That would be the unexpected that makes a room look professional.

I assume that you've laid out the samples in the room against the existing floor and you like them in both daylight and artificial light.

yayagal: Aqua. hmmm. I kind of thought that the vibrant blush was my pop of color. Are you saying for me to leave that and also add aqua.
forhgtv: Yes, we have tried them in both lights. They seem OK to me but I am not the best person for deciding color.

What is concerning me the most is the color for the walls.
Is it too dull?

Lovely combination of fabrics and colors.

Just a thought - are they stain-resistant, and are they washable? Babies are known for messes from both ends, and dry-cleanable fabrics could be an issue.

The one other thought I have on the fabrics is that I would do the window seat cushion in the darker coral solid, with perhaps the polka dot for welting, which will create nice continuity with the insides of the cubbies and bulkhead. Then I would use the polka dot, stripe, and floral for the throw pillows, doing one side of each in the prints, and the other in a solid, for more interest. The flat plane of the window cushion wonÂt give you the same impact in the prints that the pillows will.

I would do the crib skirt in the stripe, with box pleats inset with the solid fabric.

As for the wall color, I would be inclined to go for a very pale shade of the coral or the green, rather than white.

Thanks, Your ideas give me lots to think about. Your ideas on the fabric placements make a lot of sense and I will be talking to my daughter about those great ideas. Now you did not say what fabric you would use for the reverse of the window seat. Would I stick with the stipe on that side to match the RS.
Also I do not think my daughter is going to go with a pale shade of the coral or green on wall, even though I rather like the idea but if we were going to stick with a whitish creamy color could you suggest one.

I love all of your color selections. Agree with les about the wall color. Assuming you know the sex of the baby? If you do, and it is a boy, I definitely would do the aqua accent as well.

The room is going to look fantastic.

It looks like it will be a charming room, but I would not put a roman blind on a window in a young child's room. It is a strangulation hazard.

workinprogress: We do know the sex and it is a girl. So this morning I tried a sample of the palest piink and we might just go with that on walls.
At my Benjamin Moore here in Canada they are discontinuing the small jars of sample paints so they now have all jars at 1.00. So I bought a few different ones to try out.
Last night I tried out my vibrant blush which is the accent color and I did not really like it, it took on a magenta tone at nightime so I just bought a sample of raspberry pudding and am trying that out at 1.00 a sample I could be painting samples all day. LOL

Just to give you an idea, my daughter's nursery crib bedding had similar corals/pinks/greens in it, I painted the room a very pale green, BM Pale Sea Mist.

The color looks a bit yellow in the pic, but it is more a pale green.

Currently the room is DS' room, with the same color, I purposely painted it a gender neutral color if the need would arise in the future and it did.

Now DD#2 shares a room with DD#2 and the room is a very pale pink:

Can't recall the exact name of the color, but it was BM paint, and if you need to know I can look it up for you. It's hard to tell in the pic, but most of the bedding has the same shades of pinks and greens.

I love your rooms. Looking at your pale sea mist on walls, I am wondering now if my mellowed ivory is going to show up green enough on ceiling. Maybe I have to go a bit more green. Boy this is hard trying to get colors right.

I don't have any advice, but just wanted to let you know that I think everything will look great and I am supper excited for you!

I remember when I was putting together my first nursery, over 29 years ago. An April baby, so I painted the nursery yellow, used a pastel colored plaid them, and stenciled pink Beatrix Potter rabbits all around the border of the room.:) I still have the stencil (in case one of my daughters wants to use it lol) and a very large box of BP china, books, knick knacs, etc. Used the BP stuff with all three children (no stencil), kept in a yellow china cabinet. The fabrics, paint and even the rooms/houses, changed for each nursery.

We are very excited about this big event and of course that is why we so agonize over paint chips.
We have changed our minds daily. I really do think it is so much harder than years past because there is just so many choices now.
Anyways, we are now looking at BM affinity color Head over hills for the walls.
We like all the colors seperately but we just do not know if they all go together
Ceiling: BM Mellowed Ivory
Walls- BM- affinity color head over Hills
Accent- BM Raspberry Pudding
Molding and built-in: cloud white
If anyone can look at these and see if you think they go together, it would be appreciated.
