Backsplash behind stove - 2 options - opinions wanted

We are just about down to the wire. Demo is scheduled for Monday and I'm hammering out the last few details.

I wanted to get the great input of the GW community and ask for your opinions.

We are going with Caesarstone Nougat (good sample of color below):

On top of that we will be using the following backsplash (this image is of cabinet/counter sample and BS tiles. IRL counter is much more like top image):

The BS layout will be 1 row of 4x8 tumbled marble SW tiles at the bottom, and then a runner around the room of 3 1x1 mosaic tiles followed by brick lay style SW tiles to the top.

The question that I would like an opinion on is should we:

1) Use the counter top material (Caesarstone) as a BS behind the stove (since it will be more durable and able to handle the elements better).

2) Just continue the backsplash all the way around the room uninterrupted.

We currently have a stand alone 30" stove that has a back that goes up about 8-12", but this may eventually be replaced by a "slide in" unit, where it would expose much more of the BS (and allow it to flow more evenly across the room). This upgrade would still be a few years out.

Thoughts? Opinions?
