What to do for backsplash area behind stove
Comments (1)Is that the backsplash in the surrounding kitchen as well? If so, I'd do some tin, stainless, or something you can buy in a sheet and just put up there. I've seen ceiling material (the stuff to look like tin ceilings) cut and used as a backsplash. If you take the tile down and wanted to re-tile; there's a good chance you'd be stuck with having to re-sheetrock first....See MoreGranite backsplash behind hood
Comments (9)Thank you all! I told my contractor to do it. I think it would look too cut up to do otherwise. I am getting used to the granite. It looks different in chunks and flat than the whole slab in the yard. I can see where they seamed the granite, but I was looking for them. With all the movement in the granite it was hard to match exactly. I don't remember chosing certain spots that are prominant in the kitchen. Again, I think it will take some getting used to. Of course, the flooring guy decided not to work today since the granite guys were here. I wish everyone would just play nice. Neither would have been in each other's way. So now I am delayed two days with my flooring (flooring guy called in sick on Monday) and with all the furniture stacked up in the hallway, it is difficult to get to the bedroom and bathroom. Good thing I don't walk in my sleep or I would have a rude awakening by running into furniture. I am really starting to be ready to have this finished. Thanks again for your input. I appreciate it very much!...See More4' backsplash and what to do behind stove
Comments (15)"I am doing the 20" SS riser with the shelf behind my range." do yo have pictures of that? I've only just started thinking about this, so I'm not sure if I know what you mean. :) thanks in advance. FWIW, last night on DIY channel Kitchen Renovations show, they had my very situation - 4" backsplash on either side of the stove and nothing behind. They ended up tiling back there, but to me it looked odd having the stone (in this case quartz) end on either side of the stove. Hope this works, you can just barely see the backspash on either side but it looks odd to me. (not to say I don't like the tile, it's quite attractive actually)...See MoreBacksplash? No backsplash? What kind of backsplash?
Comments (25)didn't have time to read all the answers. I have no backsplash and have never regretted it...been over 6 yrs. It is painted with BM matte...which has ceramic in it. It is as beautiful now as it was when first painted. I love the fact that I can showcase other things ...art etc in my kitchen and no competition. Also if I ever want to change it is as quick as a paint brush...expense is minimal..paint only ! All in all I think it is serene as you point out . Here is one pick. Since I have a lot of high heat cooking in my kitchen..built in deep fat fryer as well as gas cook top I can definitely speak to the longevity of paint only. c ( more at this album )...See MoreAnnaA
