Need critique on kitchen plans

Hi! I'm a longtime lurker and new poster on the forum. We are re-doing our 1960's kitchen and this is our first time doing this. Short version of our story is that because we don't want to lose any space, we could expand the kitchen through busting out an exterior wall to our large backyard and add to existing covered patio area.

A few details. Our current home is 2300 sf. We have small children who are currently always underfoot (3, 1 and a baby on the way). I love to cook and spend a lot of time in my kitchen. Right now, I have no pantry and a very small mud/laundry room. I want an area off the kitchen for my kids to play and store toys and to do homework going forward.

Can you critique my plans in regard to work space?

Right now I'm giving up a broom closet in the laundry room for counter space and thinking I might store cleaning supplies in the kitchen pantry? Do you think I have enough space?

I appreciate any comments! I don't know what I'm doing, so help me troubleshoot! TIA
