We're having a rough start to the season. This yr we finally set up a nest cam after years of wanting one. Had quite a bit of trouble getting it working etc. but thankfully dealt with a wonderful co. who went out of their way to make sure we were happy and all was working well. We were very excited to watch a pair of Blues make their nest and lay 4 eggs and really looking forward to this coming weekend when the eggs should have started to hatch. Early yesterday morning hubby remarked that he hadn't see Mama in the nest during the night which was odd and she hadn't been sitting on the eggs that morning. Shortly after though 'the pair' arrived, landed on the box and started flapping and twittering like 'newlyweds'. We were puzzled by their antics especially as we watched Mama stick her head in and out of the entrance hole without going in as though she had never seen the nest/eggs before. Even more confusing we saw them start building a nest in a different box at the side of our house. That afternoon after much worry that she was abandoning her eggs, while out gardening, hubby saw over our neighbors fence that Mama was actually lying dead in his yard. There were a few feathers around, didn't appear their had been much 'violence' but obviously enough. It quickly became clear that the Mama we had seen that morning was a new Mama. Papa had moved on quickly! No wonder she looked like she didn't recognize the nest.... So, very sad to say both Mama 1 and her eggs are lost. Mama 2 is building in our other box which is unfortunately at a side of the house where we can't observe from inside and no way we can hook up the camera. We do keep seeing her hop in and out of our first box and watched Papa steal some remnants of grass to help his new nest. We're so upset this happened but at the same time happy to see them starting anew. Just hope they can stay safe.

When was the last time the furnace was serviced by a professional? It is getting old and is having trouble waking up. It could be a number of things. It may be a bad relay on the control board, a bad thermocouple, the thermostat is becoming intermitten, or the high limit switch is tripping. Your best bet is to have a tech trouble shoot it for you. It would be good if you could recreate the problem while he is there.

This site is also my therapy and relaxation each day. Despite working until 12:45 AM tonight, I logged on and now in less than 30 minutes I have my mind off of work and I feel relexed. The members on this decorating forum are just so caring, talented and entertaining. I feel so blessed that I found this site in January 2006 when I was picking paint colors for my home. You all have helped me get though my father's death last year also and my Stanley furniture fisco. You all seem to understand my obsession on getting my home to be comfortable and pretty... a place I can be proud to live in. As soon as turned midnight (a little more than 1 hour ago), my birthday began but since I need to go to sleep and have several clients tomorrow, I thought this would be my gift to myself to relax before bed after I watched one one hour of a show on TV about living long and after I did another hour of work after the show. Now I will go to bed in peace knowing in a few weeks, I can get back to decorating my home and now adding some pictures that my home badly needs.

Icebergs are different than pack ice. We get pack ice in NY. Icebergs are 10-12 thousands yrs old and compressed pure water. They cackle and pop in cocktails. Releasing the compressed air bubbles. So pure that a crushed bit has a taste of 'nothingness'. This is one of the few places where they pass by daily or bits break off and roll to shore with the tide. One yesterday was the size of a football field above the water...only ten% is above water. They often run aground and can sit for weeks like the one around the point from us. Here is a screenshot from IcebergFinders.com. where we track them. They travel down from Greenland and often takes two years....and melt as they float by. It is sunny and 65 today. T-shirt weather and 'good on laundry'. This is not Arctic weather but we did have a frost warning last night. If the weather is foul it is a 'dirty day'. Not good on clothes. (no dryers here) All use laundry lines. So nice and fresh.
