I agree. We are so lucky to have this place to come to each day, to be able to share our common interests, solve problems, and even discuss some of our personal dilemmas and joys. There is nothing quite like it! It is truly a 'wonderful thing' : )

Yes, I agree. It's a great place to come to, if only to just check in to see how things are going.

Ditto! After moving into our new house in November, there have been many problems both house related and personal. This place allows me to either focus on my decorating decisions or escape into someone elses depending on how my day is going.

In just the last few weeks, my Dad was hospitalized, my husband's back went out, the painters were here, furniture purchases were wrong and the list goes on (and on and on).

I look forward to the day when I can post some photos of my rooms and ask you all for help! :)

I agree. I find this site (and the kitchen forum, and the tree forum, etc) so relaxing, enjoyable and undemanding. (Since I have no design or photoshop skills.) Some of the members are so talented and some are just a hoot. It is amazing how many of the posters are animal lovers, too. That sooooo works for me.

This is the first internet site I ever joined and before that I always thought that people who spent time on the internet and had internet friends were geeks and weirdos.

I stand corrected.

This is my therapy. The thing I enjoy the most is no matter how humble or how grand our homes are when we have a problem, decorating or otherwise, there are so many willing to help. This amazes me all the time. The talent is unending!

Me, too. When work is too much and there are a ton of things going on that are driving me crazy, I hop on here and take a relaxing tour down decorating lane. it's fun and the community feeling is very nice. I haven't ever joined any other web forums, either. It's a cool way of making friends, because you don't know anything about people but how they respond.

I have always had a passion for design, decorating and architecture. In garden web I have found a community that shares the same passions. There are so many forums to explore, spend time, enjoy, learn and laugh. As Martha would say "It's a good thing!"

I agree! I'm stressed today; waiting for a contractor to rip the tile out of my shower for the third time in three years to repair yet another leak! With all I have to do, I found myself here.

Sometimes I'll make a decorating comment to a real life friend and they sort of look at me oddly. Then I remember that my obsession is not shared by all. It's good to be understood - at least in cyberworld!

This site is also my therapy and relaxation each day. Despite working until 12:45 AM tonight, I logged on and now in less than 30 minutes I have my mind off of work and I feel relexed. The members on this decorating forum are just so caring, talented and entertaining. I feel so blessed that I found this site in January 2006 when I was picking paint colors for my home. You all have helped me get though my father's death last year also and my Stanley furniture fisco. You all seem to understand my obsession on getting my home to be comfortable and pretty... a place I can be proud to live in. As soon as turned midnight (a little more than 1 hour ago), my birthday began but since I need to go to sleep and have several clients tomorrow, I thought this would be my gift to myself to relax before bed after I watched one one hour of a show on TV about living long and after I did another hour of work after the show. Now I will go to bed in peace knowing in a few weeks, I can get back to decorating my home and now adding some pictures that my home badly needs.

I forget to send all of you a cyberhug for being there for me and making me not feel alone with my recent love of decorating. Thank you all again for being the best and more caring group of members. ((((((((((((((( HUGS ))))))))))))))))))

Just wanted to add a "thank you". I recently found this forum and love it.
My beloved (sometimes :-) DH said: ah, how nice, you found people to share your decoration anxieties with and they are not bored with them :-)

I don't even want to admit how many times I check into this forum. It's true. It's a great place, for knowledge, relaxation and fun.
