Karolina, I want to let you know that a few of my roses have been doing the exact same thing this year--I think it's the extreme dry heat we've been getting all spring. When spring started, the roses threw out nice long canes to try to bloom, I took off most buds, after that, they began to grow these short candelabra canes with flower buds on top. I'm pretty sure it's not a disease, I think probably just less than ideal growing condition/environment, I'm hoping we will get a cool and wet fall/winter so the roses can get a break from being constantly pushed to grow and bloom, poor things. Anyways if you go to the webpage I'm attaching here, you can see the leaves on that obviously very healthy rose's candelabra canes are different from the big leaves, I don't think it's anything to worry about. Same with the masses of thorns. Deer damage can also cause candelabra growth, it happened to my Martina Mondadori. Here is a link that might be useful: Pruning Candelabras

O.K. Just my advice don't give up on those lil' bitty seedling's!! I know my weather is a bit warmer than your's..But you'll definitly get there!! I work so much I tend to pass by my WS little sprout's well at least I check em' every day when I can... way to soon then they get to be biggie sprouts! I actually had an amaranthus, and a nicotania attempt to bloom in my zippie baggie's before I could get them out of said baggies, and I sowed those seeds in mid-feb so don't worry.. I just wanted to thank you all for the great posts and input in this forum. I visited and searched so many times to learn from your experiences (good ones, bad ones, or simply torturous ones), and here is my choice: Fridge: Jenn-Air white floating glass side-by-side full depth (we built the space to fit the full depth fridge) DW: Miele Inspira SS (I chose simpler model for the cost saving purpose, nonetheless it should have great cleaning capability and service.) Ovens: GE Monogram SS 27" single oven and GE Monogram Advantium (Good reviews, plus their handles match Jenn-Air fridge) Cooktop: Jenn-Air Electric downdraft with SS rim (a bit of compromise, but it had to be downdraft) I ended up ordering them online (Abt.com and us-appliances.com) and saved at least $2000 total. I wanted to give business to the local stores, but they were not only much more expensive but also not so helpful and charged delivery just like online companies. As soon as my kitchen is done (perhaps in 2 months) I will post photos. Again, thank you very much and I will share my experiences with these appliances.

If you are going to filter tap water for drinking and cooking, I suggest running two cold water lines to the kitchen, one softened, one not. The unsoftened water would run only to your filter. Then you branch off from the filter to the drinking water tap and to the icemaker. The softened cold water line runs to the kitchen sink so you won't end up with buildup around your faucet. Just another alternative to what you have planned. Your planned 1 cubic ft softener will be just right. Whether you go with the 5600sxt or 7000 sxt will depend upon your pipe size. If your plumbing will be 3/4" go with the 5600. Larger piping calls for the 7000. Price difference will likely be $30-$50. I recommend having your plumber install a three-valve bypass in case you have to remove the softener entirely. I've included a diagram below. The diagram shows gate valves, but I prefer quarter-turn ball valves instead.
