I love your wood, chandy and colors and would put a largish, round Oriental rug in the middle of the floor but then I'm pretty much form before function. You could put a beautiful picture where the iron work is now and move that to over the commode placed vertically.

Hide the scale. Put in on the bottom of your linen closet and it will be good exercise bending over and getting it every morning :) .

Thanks for your ideas parma42. I've been wondering if I should put some sort of Oreintal rug in there...why do you suggest round? Not that I object to that, just curious as to the reason. Although, DH would probably fret if he didn't have something to 'stand' on at the sink. I like the idea of moving the iron piece and I'll hide the scale. :)

I actually think it is pretty. I might change the paint color from blue or green to something warmer, like maybe BM Desert tan, something like that. And I'd not use the little mats in front of the vanity and replace it with one larger rectabgular rug in the center which can extend to the vanity. Put in a shower curtain with more color too.

I think that the iron piece would be good above the toilet. A large framed art work would be great to replace the iron piece. I was afraid of using art above my jetted tub, but am so glad that I did. I like the look of it and have had many compliments on it.

I have the exact same footprint as you do in my bath. I recently redid my bath and yours looks lovely! HUGE change I made was loosing my textured shower door and going with clear glass to show off the tile. (Previously it was acrylic behind the textured door) this opened the bathroom up SO much. Made it appear deeper being able to look into the shower. I think a change of paint color too and a long oriental style rug in front of the vanity and it would be lovely.

How about a bench or ottoman in the middle?

Okay, so I definitely need to find a rug. I guess I'll just play around with sizes and see what I can come up with. Unfortunatley I'm not in or near a large city, so my resources are a bit limited. I'm not against painting, I'm just not up for it as we just built two years ago so I'm hoping to liven things up a bit without painting. My apologies as I should have stated that in the original post. I'll also begin my search for art work for above the tub...this is exciting. Thanks for the tips!

Call me crazy, but I think your bath would be wonderful in a warm, rusty red. It needs something bold and cocoon-like.

Okay, so maybe I'm desperate here for a quick change. I remembered this piece of art in our storage room and decided to try it out. The frame is a huge no, but how about the print itself and the size...does this work at all or am I totally grasping at straws here? :)
I haven't gotten the tools out to move the iron piece, but had to try it so I had ds#2 help me hold it in place so I could snap a pic.

I like the iron piece with the move. I don't think that the print is the right color. I agree that a warmer color would be good, but if you stay with this, I still don't think this print works. I also think it is still too small for the space.

How about replacing the white vent that is under the vanity with a brown one? What is the other white piece - the one on the right?

HA! Yep, you're right laexpat, that WHITE heater vent and vac-pan stick out...funny, they used to drive me crazy...looks like I completely forgot about those. Yes, they need to be painted/changed out. :-)

And I do agree that print is a no-go, although I'm liking the iron piece moved above the commode. Thanks for that idea.

I never know about a poster's finances but I always think of the bathroom as an important place for art and look forward to shopping for it. Doesn't have to be expensive but I want something I truly love to be able to look at while I'm bathing. That said, I sure wouldn't want anyone else picking that out for me.

Look for something larger that what you just put there. If you like flowers, find a floral, if you like to travel, put a piece of art that reflects where you'd like to be when you're relaxing in the tub.

I like the iron piece over the toilet, and a piece of artwork over the tub (although a different one & bigger than pictured).

Personally, I love the paint color. Guess that's what makes us all different. I love it because it's calming & gives a sanctuary type feeling. Those suggesting red have a personal preference for a bolder & more vibrant room for their bathroom.

Have you checked out overstock for artwork. Love their framed canvases.

I'm at art.com right now checking out what they have...I didn't even think of overstock.com, but will look there too. I think the frustrating part for me right now is I don't know what my style really is. If someone were to ask what my decorating style is I'm not sure I could answer.

I'm planning to keep the green paint. I feel the rest of my house is a bit dark and I'm wanting a bit of a light and airy retreat.

I sincerely appreciate all the input! After the bathroom is up to par I'll move on to the dining room....beware!
