LOL, Annie...but I am able to get whatever my "culinary skills" out there....it is fun for me and exciting...and I did make more than min wage around these here parts when I did do it...I also got a catering job last weekend...I didn't make much...like $60 bucks...but they also didn't want me to home made anything..just coordinate...had me pick up that dastardly fried chicken from Walmart!! UGH!! I picked up 100 pieces...they took home 70 pieces..what a waste of money. I'd rather have been able to whip up some chicken and dumpling casserole for half the price and much tastier! 1. is too far away to id. for certain. Possibly Spiraea arguta clipped so it hasn't flowered. 2. is a Fuchsia - not necessarily a winter hardy one. 3. is Buddleja - quite likely a self sown one that someone has attempted to cut down. 4. Sorbus cultivar possibly S aucuparia 'Chinese Lace'. 5. Philadelphus or Deutzia - new growth is tricky to distinguish. Erring on the side of Philadelphus. 6. Potentilla fruticosa (see above for the latest name change but still widely referred to as Potentialla.) 7. Campanula portenschlagiana, a very common self sower. 8. Aucuba japonica All are run of the mill except the Sorbus. If you cadged that one you got a bargain.

The reason they ask Nurseries to destroy their stock is because once a rose is deemed "unworthy" of the Austin name, they don't want it growing everywhere, performing 'badly' and giving the Austin name a bad reputation. That is their reasoning behind it. However, the problem lies in that some roses may not do well EVERYWHERE but they do well in certain climates and many of these are the roses getting discontinued by DA. Pretty Jessica comes to mind. I feel DA is trying desperately to change the perception that their roses are disease magnets and are getting rid of any roses that are iffy in that department. It seems a bit harsh, but David Austin Roses has always been somewhat of a marketing machine so I'm not surprised by their extreme measures. I do hope that you can get your hands on the roses you are looking for. I must add that I am DEVISTATED to hear Belle Story is on the chopping block as this is one of my favorite Austins. However, my original one died of disease. Perhaps that's why they are discontinuing her. Luckily my replacement Belle Story is doing well, but I plan on rooting a cutting just in case my grafted one dies as mine is on Dr. Huey which has a short life span here.

That color looks too much like your existing cabinets, table, chairs and floor. It will be so one-dimensional and washed out looking. I prefer your existing paint color instead of that sample.
