please help ! my porch framing looks off to me
Comments (9)Sorry it has taken so long to respond. I did get to talk to our builder on Monday. He assured me that arch will be incorporated. It will be built down. I know we have a good framer but I was just having a momemt. I too had questions about the door being lower. The header for it is in the correct place and he put the sheathing over it so that he could cut out the elliptical transom for th door. Thanks!...See MorePlease help me with my front porch
Comments (7)I used a product called SoyGel to remove carpet glue from my bathroom tiles. I am going to remove some nasty outdoor carpet from my front porch this summer. There is carpet glue all over the concrete under it. I'm going to order some soygel (no smell, you don't even have to use gloves) and give it a try before I paint it. Its the consistency of a hair gel. You pour some out, and paint it out with a brush. I did about a one foot square at a time. Leave on at least a 1/2 hour, the longer the better. Scrape up the goop. I used a brillo to clean the tile inside but I'll power wash the porch. I'll you know how it turns out! Here is a link that might be useful: SoyGel...See MorePlease Help Me Choose Colors for Porch Furniture
Comments (15)I was going to say turquoise LOL but I agree with browny - since your siding is a muted gray-green, and it looks like you have black shutters and door, then maybe mix black and the brick (*your* brick not generic) red. I don't know that people usually put cushions on Ad. chairs, so how about painting the footrests (yes, turn them around) and table one color and the chairs the other? I'd like the chairs black and the smaller pieces brick. If that bothers you then paint the chairs and the footrests the same color and just paint the table the other color - your choice, brick chairs with black table b/t the black shutters would look nice too....See MoreCould someone please help me with my back porch?
Comments (10)Thank you both so much for the response! Yes we both agree about the grills. We had thought about adding an area for the grills out in the yard. Like more of a patio w pergola or roof if some sort. We had comfortable rocking chairs but I moved them to the front porch. I live in southern Illinois and we sit outside a lot and we’re sick of the cushions always being damp. That’s why we got furniture without cushions. Yes I agree we need landscaping around the back. We have a lot of landscaping in the front. We have 3 dogs and they run around the backyard and in and out of our lake usually on weekends. I’ve just never done anything out back yet. I’m not sure of what kind of edging I’d want to use. I’m not real big on the retaining wall blocks. Here is the view from the back porch. I’ve got 3 small raise garden beds....See Moreoceanna
