I just noted that I wrote I wasnt putting a essential oil recipe in there for cleaning wooden floors, but there is one in there. Note though, that I havent ever used that recipe as I dont have wood floors, so I cant 100% say it wont take the shine off. If you want to try it, just do a test spot in a hidden area. Also, I dont know if I can give people my e-mail address if they want a printable version of this? Or my environmental group on myspace? Can I? Thanks for the link, Carol; it's more informative than anything else I googled. Like you, I don't buy imitation oils or extracts. The almond essence is extremely strong - used a tiny amt in something once & had to throw it out - & it's probably more potent that the KA brand judging by one of their cookie recipes that calls for 1/8 tsp. 1 tsp of essence would be enough to flavor a bowl of ingredients in a giant, floor sized mixer! On some site I read that commercial bakers prefer bitter almond oil & I suspect that's what the essence is, although I'll have to check it to see if it had a bittersweet fragrance as opposed to sweet almond. Linda, actually the poison is cyanide & bitter almonds are a separate species. I believe they're treated to remove the poison (just guessing) & according to the above website, regular almond extract may come from the bitter variety. Thanks for the help - now I don't feel compelled to buy another addition to the spice cabinet.

It's real essential oil, I checked after reading Carol's post. The overall smell was initially just incredibly strong. Now, a day and a half later, the smell doesn't seem so strong. I need a lot more flaxseed and lavender buds to fill all the casings. I'm going to add the extra to the bowl already mixed and see if that takes the smell down more. Well unfortunately with florals..you'll get quite a variety of interpretations of the scent. I personally like a Plumeria that I think is actually a Dupe of Bath and Body Works. Which is a blend of things, not just the "scent" of the flower. However if you are looking for a "truer" plumeria, you might want to look for a scent listed under Frangapini. Again I think almost all fragrance oils that are florals are blends, not "true" single "note" scents. Check out Oregon Trail Soaps..I'm pretty sure that Susan and Juan have devised some spot on florals though.
