The Jefferson Monticello in Virginia has them for sale on their website for $15. This is what they say about them: In 1792, Thomas Jefferson wrote to Benjamin Hawkins, "The most beautiful bean in the world is the caracalla bean which, though in England a greenhouse plant, will grow in the open air in Virginia and Carolina." It was being grown in American gardens by the 1830s, when Robert Buist wrote in The American Flower Garden Directory, "Snail-Flower is a very curious blooming plant, with flowers ... all spirally twisted, in great profusion when the plant is grown well." This spectacular flower was popular in florists' corsages by the late 19th-century. Clusters of highly fragrant, white and purple flowers flushed with creamy yellow. Buds resemble a corkscrew or snail. Vines grow to 20 feet in summer or year round in the greenhouse. Prefers full sun to very light shade and rich, well-drained soil with some organic matter. I don't use the really bad stained ones. Having a good thick mulch to keep the beans from making contact with the soil may help. I also would like to know if the stained ones are o.k. to eat.

Okay - I called my sister and she said the recipe she uses came from Cooks.com OLIVE GARDEN ITALIAN SALAD DRESSING 1/4 cup white or red wine vinegar (more or less, to taste) 1/3 cup water 1/3 cup vegetable oil or olive oil 1/4 cup light corn syrup 2 1/2 tablespoons grated Romano cheese 2 tablespoons dry pectin (used to thicken jelly) 2 tablespoons beaten egg or egg substitue 1 1/4 tsp. salt 1 tsp. lemon juice 1/2 teaspoons minced fresh garlic or 1 tsp. garlic powder 1/4 teaspoons dried parsley flakes pinch of oregano pinch of crushed red pepper flakes, or to taste Combine all of the ingredients with a mixer on medium speed for 30 seconds -Or- in a blender on low speed for 30 seconds -Or- use a wand mixer on low speed for 30 seconds. Chill at least 1 hour. Serve over mixed greens or use as a marinade. I like to add the hot peppers in the salad that the restaurant uses. It tastes closer to the original that way.

Toni, I don't want to draw this out and maybe we we should have moved this to the Hot Topics forum, but I want to stress that Drew's parents did not enter his video in this show because of Howard Stern! And you are way out of line in comparing him to Pee Wee Herman and Larry Flynt, IMHO! I, nor they, listen to his radio show but have heard bits of it and do not care for that "Howard" at all. I think you detest the man so much that you have been slanted in your view of him on this show. I agree 100% with lily that he has never been disrespectful in any way on this show and he is not the only celebrity judge on there! If you read what I said before, Drew has not decided if this is something he wants to pursue or not and to say that he is going through HS as a means of doing so is presumptuous on your part and frankly none of your business if it turns out that way, sorry. You make it sound like they are of low moral character by submitting his video to this "questionable" show. He is a kid for heavens sake! And enjoying coming out of his bedroom and and performing on the stage on television in front of millions who enjoy the show for what it's worth and not a bunch of perverts or porn stars or weirdos who are out to prey on kids like Drew!
