Hows the weather in your neck of the woods? Here in Chicago we are getting clobbered, and their calling for a major blizzard later tonight 18 in. or more, oh fun!! Sure does look pretty though, and my dog loves to play in it especially when I throw a shovel of snow at her LOL.

I live in Tracy, California and it's cloudy (looks like rain). Not very exciting.

Snow sounds like more fun right now !

Keep warm !!

Hi, I live in Michigan, in the thumb. We are also getting
lots of snow with blizzard conditions. The media is advising no one to venture out unless absolutely necessary.
Hopefully, I won't have to work tomorrow and just stay inside scrapbooking!

Welcome to the forum canuckeh! I am one of those GJers who loves the plate flowers. There are a number of posts about them and several ways to make them. If you type in glass plate flowers in the search bar at the bottom of the page, you'll get lots of posts. You can either drill the plates or glue them together with GE Silicone II for glass. I do make mine indoors and haven't been bothered by odor from the silicone. Give the search a try and if you don't find what you're looking for, I'll try and post some more instructions--or at least the way I do them!

Planted 2 small 12 inch 2 flower plants beginning of July and both plants had about 20 flowers each and quadrupled in size. I have them planted in full sun and they are planted where it is not too dry. Alot of them had deformed petals, seems like the roots couldn't catch up. I'll be interested to see what happens next summer.

Yes, I've seen the news about the icy midwest. My heart really goes out to those folks without power to even keep warm. Fortunately, it has all been rain in my part of the "eastern midwest". According to the weather channel we have had 7 to 8 inches of rain in the past week, with more on the way for the next few days. I normally hate dreary weather like this but in light of the drought last summer I am grateful for every bit of it. We had an incredible ice storm last winter. It took my husband 4 hours to drive home from his office which is around 15 miles away. Traffic was so bad he had to stop at a gas station to pee! After the storm it was sunny but stayed very cold and I lived in a winter wonderland for several days. Pictures can't so it justice, but my maple tree at that time: The neighborhood Karen

JoyLyn,

Brrr that's pretty cold! Your pages are really nice, they have made a lot of progress on the Chief, we were there several times, the last time was 6 years ago, beautiful country!

Snow ?? All we are getting is rain but then if we get one good snow a year, we are lucky and the entire upper half of the state shuts down! I am just south of Atlanta in GA. We did have a few sprinkles one day last week and also some sleet but no snow on the ground.

Y'all take lots of pictures so you can scrap them! We don't get to do too many snow pages. But more than that, please be careful and have blankets in your vehicle if you travel.

Just moved from Atlanta (Marietta) to Florida. While we didn't get much snow in Marietta we could usually count on one good snowfall a year and Rebecca is right - the whole area shuts down! My children keep asking when the snow will come here in Tampa - they are VERY disappointed with none. I had to turn my A/C back on the other day because we are very humid and mid to high 70's.
