I have been reading all the great garden ideas..and looking at the pictures. WOW !!! What wonderful ideas you all have. I saw the plate glass flowers but need a play by play description of how to make them. They will look lovely next summer near my ponds.Good wintertime project ( I already decided to make the bottle bugs too.) Once I know how to make them, I can sing 'let it snow, let it snow, let it snow'

There are a couple of ways to make them. I'm working of a how to collection since the garden web doesn't respond when I asked them how to get something new in FAQ.
I'll post a site when get it figured out. By the way, the kind I make (with ge silicone II) one wouldn't want to do indoors.

Welcome to the forum canuckeh! I am one of those GJers who loves the plate flowers. There are a number of posts about them and several ways to make them. If you type in glass plate flowers in the search bar at the bottom of the page, you'll get lots of posts. You can either drill the plates or glue them together with GE Silicone II for glass. I do make mine indoors and haven't been bothered by odor from the silicone. Give the search a try and if you don't find what you're looking for, I'll try and post some more instructions--or at least the way I do them!

Hi everyone, I am just getting into making these lovely 'flowers' I started to use the new gorilla SUPER glue for the spoon in the back. It is so strong that after 24 hours you can bend the spoon and that glue will not budge. What are you using for embellishments on your plates? Since I live in Connecticut I will bring them in when the frost hits, until then I am enjoying my new found addiction LOL

Sorie...go to the bottom of the page to the search bar and put in plate glass flower and you'll get lots of posts showing lots of different ways to make plate flower backs. Most people just flatten the spoon, bend it over and use silicone to glue it to the plate.

A link to other owls this seller has for sale (I do not know her personally...but maybe they will inspire ones creativity) the nose/beak is a corner of a dish...and raised off the plate. She must cut the glass somehow. She also drills a hold in the plate to attach a flattened spoon. Or...maybe an owl will speak to you...and you'll want one of hers. She has a another that really caught my eye. But I don't need two! Wouldn't it be cool if we had someone who could make an instructional video on how to make some of these things? Egads, YouTube would get inundated with Garden Junkers if that were the case!
