Living here in New Mexico, this style ~ in all of it's many forms ~ is pretty common.
The following are typical features of Spanish Revival houses:
* Asymmetrical
* Low-pitched flat, gable, or hip roof, typically with no overhang
* Tile roof
* Half round arches, doors, and windows
* Stucco over adobe brick, or adobe brick exterior walls
* Use of ornate tile, wrought iron, and carved wood work
* cantilevered balconies
* long covered porches (called portals out here)
* arcaded walkways
Inside the home:
* Plastered interior walls
* the use of Talavera tiles and pottery from Mexico, are fairly common
* walls are usually but not always a warm cream color
* accent colors are usually bright: blue, pink, yellow, green, orange, turquoise, red
* wrought iron tables, lamps, etc., but you need to be judicious about using them or it could quickly turn into tackiness.
* terracotta tile or brick floors are seen here a lot
* terracotta pots used for plants, etc.
* you see a lot of punched tin work and ornate silver and silverplate pieces, but not necessarily in every home. This is one of two punched tin mirrors with embroidered fabric inset under glass in our master bathroom. The tiles are Talavera. Several lights were also made by the same Santa Fe artist and he also made the punched tin door inserts for our linen cabinets in two of the bathrooms:

We have a long covered portal along the front of our home furnished with real, not-made-for-porch furniture on it including rugs, lamps, wood furniture with cushions I can take in during our winters, and art. This probably sounds
a bit strange, but you do find that here a lot.

Although I have no desire to live in some museum-like house, surrounded by too much frou-frou, I do have my share of santos and religious artwork.

A number of arched doorways. In this pic of our front foyer, with carved pieced front door, adobe walls, Oriental rug on brick floor and arched brick boveda ceiling. The hanging light fixture is from San Miguel de Allende in Mexico, a town famous for their gorgeous light fixtures. The 3 on our front portal came from there, too. All are common Spanish Colonial/ Revival:

We've used Talavera tiles in all 3 of our bathrooms, including one sink

and on the dining room's built-in hutch. In our dinnerware:

I've even turned one 24" long Talavera planter into the summer centerpiece in there. BTW, sunflowers are also fairly common:

Folk art is another. This is the area behind my kitchen sink. There are a lot of farmhouse sinks used out here, but my DH dislikes them, so ours is a Silgranit one in black.

This rustic hood over our cooktop when we had the kitchen renovated is also very Spanish. So are our wood ceilings, vigas and hand-carved corbels. The antique, painted window I have propped up there is also fairly common :

I love mediterranean style. I wish I could incorporate
the design influence in my home. Every so often I find
a peice of art or candle stick or something with the
feel and I use it but I would love to do a whole home.

We just recently returned from a Mediterranean vacation with stops in Spain, Southern France (be still my heart), Italy and Morocco. Think color: red, gold, blue and yellow. Rich fabrics and lots of antiques.

Love that French Country kitchen that Cote de Texas posted. Thanks for posting it here. The style of the wood, the color of the tiles, the pot rack all would be seen in the South of France. Ahhhh.........gorgeous!

I know a interior decorator in town that is selling her big pot and pan holder made by a blacksmith for a hundred bucks. Unless she already sold it, which is possible. I wanted it so bad but I pictured my ceiling coming down in this old house. I think you need extra support to hang such a big piece.
I'm just rambling on this morning, like I don't have a thing to do. (lol)
