HMMM, well, I am almost disappointed. Of course, the variety you named, I believe makes it a parent of a true Christmas Cactus. I thought for sure it was one from pictures and descriptions I had seen. Totally not upright in its growth, etc. Oh well, none the less, I do think it has been around for some time and it is pretty big. Plus it did bloom at Christmas through the first couple weeks of January. So, I am not going to tell it any different!!! I am going to give the re-potting a whirl this weekend and will keep my fingers crossed that I do not break much. Thanks for the details on what to do. Lastly, since it does hang down so much, and it looks pretty silly with it staked up like I have done. Do you use any of those florist type wire rings, or something like that for support? (Like a very small tomato cage that would follow the edge of the pot?) Thanks to everyone for the help and the ideas of how to treat my very pretty cactus. If your have Print Shop you got to cards and click from there. You can create your own or have the program help you. I always start from scratch. You can import stuff into the card from your own files. I keep my personal pictures and stuff I use in my documents in a folder. You can also use their graphics, there is a graphics button and you search there for what you want. There is a text box, you click on it and a text box comes up and you can size it to the size you want, pick your font and color and type in what you want. You just need to play around with it and if you have a question come back on here and ask it. Hope I helped a little. If you find a poem or saying you like and want to put it in the card just highlight what you want and right click, copy and go to your card and right click and paste. If you want a different size, font and or color just go to edit at the top and click select all and that will highllight it and then you pick your color, size and font.

Yes, welcome to the forum Sameboat!! I joined about 8 years ago when I was stressing over my first time hosting a holiday dinner in my new house. And I was 44 years old so NOT a new cook or hostess but I'm mostly vegetarian and my family asked for organic turkey. Now what did I know about cooking a turkey??!! Folks here held my hand and were so friendly and nice I stayed. And I am a firm believer in the school of thought that Chase mentioned, food tastes best when served in a warm, relaxing manner by a happy hostess!! There's a whole bunch of us here who are all into short cuts, low cal, low carb, high carb, store bought, "inexpensive", whatever floats your boat, no apologies!! Diversity is the spice of life and the spice of the kitchen! So take your shoes off (I don't want mud tracked in now!) ;) and stay a while!!

That is so cute! I hope you post a pic when it's completed. When I did a pinwheel quilt, I used iron-on daisy appliques in the pinwheel centers. Then, to be double sure, I sewed around each tiny daisy. Then I washed the quilt twice to make sure the daisies were secure. It was a lot of extra work. The baby's Mom was a nurse so I knew she would check the quilt after each washing. I think that Rosa's idea of using an embroidery stitch may be a good solution. ~Geraldine
