My Husband and I found out that I am pregnant!! I am so excided I want to start getting the scrapbook together. I would love any help on how to make it special and what to put in it.

Congratulations Tanya..well I have a few ideas..My daughter is expecting her first child in a couple of months...I am working on a book for my other daughters 30th birthday then I start on a baby scrapbook for the daughter who is expecting.. First a copy of the pregnancy test...then I took a picture of her early in her pregnancy..She had a ultra sound taken and I scanned that picture.. Just this weekend I took some more pictures of her .. ( I am fortunate to have a Digital Camera )I took three of her and made a collage , and we put that in a matted picture frame .. it turned out great and she gave it to her husband that night. The first two pictures were of her touching her tummy in a very loving way..the last one is with her shirt UP..and all her real tummy showing..she has her hands under her tummy like she is rocking the baby ..very personal yet very beautiful expression of her love for her child even before she arrives..I will of course take pictures of her shower..and the birth ..and go from there..the nice thing is that she is very creative herself and she will keep it up after I get so far. I am so happy to do this...It is so much fun..now remember to KEEP all things attached to the birth and from then on.. Like the Birth Announcement and the things from the hospital and you just build from there..Good Luck...And Blessings To You ...

I would just say "yes, that WAS a real, one-of-a-kind gift! I'm so glad you liked it." And I would make sure that the person that assisted with the first one said the exact same thing. I get very annoyed when people start requesting certain things instead of just taking what they get and liking it. So rude.

I'm not a scrapbooker any longer, but am starting to work with paper to make cards ... so I've been spending a lot of time in our three main craft stores, Michael's, JoAnn's and Hobby Lobby. They all have good-sized scrapbooking sections, have you checked there? Also, does your area have any small scrapbooking stores? Back when I did scrapbook, I could find more specialty items there. Another option, of course, is to find a Creative Memories consultant. But my all-time favorite, is eBay. You can find tons of things there.

How about marking off a 1-2 inch strip around all four sides of the page as a border and scattering the names on different angles, in different fonts and colors, etc. within the border and in the middle say, "And the winner is..." and follow it with the name you decided upon and why. Maybe set the center off even more by matting the "winner is" and the name and the reasoning all separately to coordinate with the colors used in the border. There's lots of variations you could do, but I'll leave that up to your imagination. If you want more specific ideas, let me know and I can give you some. (That might be a good way to do a particular layout for my dd's baby book, too- you inspired me!) Happy scrappin'! -Sarah
