You should be able to get your digital pictures printed by a company such as Ofoto. I asked one of their people about their printing process and received this response: "Our process uses optimized traditional silver-halide photographic paper that's exposed pixel by pixel by a light source inside of our digital printers. The process mimics traditional photography where light from your subject would expose photographic film inside of a camera. Ofoto uses KODAK PROFESSIONAL Digital III Color Paper, a resin-coated, silver-halide color paper designed for digital printers that use LED, CRT, or laser printing devices. The photographs we image at Ofoto have the same archival quality as 35mm prints because they are real photos." They're currently having a special where you can get 100 prints made free. I just got a digital camera. There are websites that will process your photos just like a regular photo lab. Family PC had an issue on digital photography and it listed some web sites that offer this service. www.fujifilm.net, www.kodak.photonet.com, www.ofoto.com, www.photoaccess.com, www.photoloft.com, www.sfw.com, www.shutterfly.com. All of these got good ratings from the testers. sfw.com is having a promotion, you get your first 24 photos sent and processed for FREE. I just sent mine! I don't know how it will work out yet. Thank you for all these information, it is really interesting to know that all the products are not exactly the same and because I have a scientific background I like these kinds of testing (2 months ago, I tested the most common glue sticks found in France, to know about their PH, because in France there is no mention about acid-free on the products), For pictures fading, I think the problem is alittle different and we can be confident.This is the light which is really dangerous for colors, but in our scrapbooks, pictures are protected from the light the major part of the time (even if you display your books, pretty often :-)) imho! the problem is different for pictures hung on the walls, because light is always there! I'd copy it just to be on the safe side. I know for newspaper articles it was suggested to me to photocopy it and then have it laminated. I did this with my wedding announcement from the newspaper a few years ago and it still looks good.
