What an important reminder! And hopefully finding this in a search will quickly answer that perennial question of whether we mean the screw-cap when we talk about putting the lid or top on a jug (we don't!) I, too, have used jugs saved with the caps on--yuck! Even worse were the ones fished out of the recycling center; they were never even rinsed. That was a desperate first WS winter! I think it was Seedmama who suggested having a candle burning nearby when you clean the stinky jugs, so the flame burns the nasty smell! Unless it was you, Trudi. I saved a bunch of caps to the milk and the 2-liters, and they have come in handy. Like mmqc mentioned, for transporting water. I've also used them as invisible feet indoors, to get some things up off a floor that gets damp. Using them as pot feet didn't occur to me, though!

It is unfortunate that misinformation continues to be repeated about glyphosate. Denmark has not banned glyphosate, nor have "many European countries". Denmark at one point thought that some of the monitoring they were doing showed that glyphosate could move into agricultural field drainage water in autumn but once they looked at their data and related it to the methodology they used, they enacted no ban whatsoever. As the Danish Environmental Protection Agency specifically stated: http://www.egeis.org/home/main/Evaluation-GlyphosateDEPA.PDF "Against this background, the Danish Environmental Protection Agency believes that no unacceptable risk of pollution of the groundwater is associated with the currently approved agricultural use of glyphosate. Used properly, glyphosate will not pollute drinking water nor will it have adverse effects on humans. Once applied, it binds tightly to soil particles and is not herbicidally active. If it is applied to hard surfaces such as sidewalks it can move offsite of course. It can also move if there is active soil erosion carrying soil off site. It is of very low toxicity, and breaks down completely into natural constituents over time. It is of equal or lower toxicity than most household products such as detergent, soaps, shampoos, cleaners etc. and far less toxic than some of the "alternatives" often discussed such as bleach, kerosene, high strength vinegars and so on. Thanks for the info-- I put my images on the front (opposite of yours I think) so the finish would come into contact with stuff. Is the finish on Envirotex hard? The 3d lacquer 'feels' hard to the touch but if you would stick your finger nail in it, it would leave an indentation that is why I'm wondering if it is the product or whatever. If I tried envirotex, could I use it on the front of the bottle cap? The 3d lacquer is premade and comes in a squeezeable bottle. Thanks for your help-- your botle cap tags are pretty cool.
