with those pillowcase dresses of yours.

I have 7 small nieces that I have made them for this past week. I did take it a step further tho. I made hair scrunchies & a small purse/tote to match. Some of the dresses have eyelet or lace around the bottom. The purses have eyelet/lace around the top & I add a lil something extra.....like an angel pin or maybe bows. I fold the dress up & place it in the purse/tote along with a scrunchie & a matching headband. The girls LOVE them & are requesting scarfs with ribbon ties. I guess I better get busy. :-) Thanks so much for sharing these ADORABLE & EASY dresses.

I got a big laugh out of your post. It is like you get possessed about making them. Mother (joansews) took her armholes and made pockets on the front of the dresses she did. Glad you are enjoying them. You'll have to put a pic in the gallery.

I had been glancing through the pics in the Gallery and thought, "Hmm, maybe it is time for me to start sewing again." I had my machine out yesterday to do some mending and was recalling all of the outfits I'd made for my friend's daughter (who is now 11) when she was 5-years old. I did the same, DeeÂmade dresses and other outfits with matching bag/purse and hair adornments (some were scrunchies and some were hair pins, some were bows attached to elastic bandsÂI did a variety of things). I would put the entire thing into the bag and mail them off to Cin (although she lives, oh three miles away). She'd be ecstatic to get these little packages. I'd made at least 30 of these little giftsÂmom didn't have to buy her any clothes when she went off to Kindergarten that yearÂ

Now that I see these darling pillowcase dresses, I am starting to get the itchÂ

And just like it says in that Jefferson Starship song, "Nothin's Gonna Stop Us Now." luvsdirt - there are millions of seeds out there waiting, needing folks to plant them. It looks like a white Lady Banks rose, Rosa banksiae, which is an incredible fast grower. That rose might only be a few years old--they grow that fast. There is both a white flowered and a yellow flowered version. It is a once-bloomer in springtime (no to very little repeat of bloom each year), has superb disease resistance, is not particularly cold hardy, and grows like kudzu.

Glad to see some photos! I will mention that there is another section of the Hosta Forum called the Gallery where a lot of us post photos too. THis forum doesn't seem to be as strict as some and everyone posts photos here too, just be forwarned, this forum will move VERY quickly once everyone has leaves unfurling! LOL Alexa

You better get to scratching that itch!!! Wanna borrow my backscratcher? LOL!

I can't remember whan I have had so much fun sewing as I do making these dresses. The hunt for the perfect fabric is half the fun.

One of my nieces is nicknamed "Buggy". I found THE CUTEST black fabric with colorful ladybugs all over it. With her nickname & her coloring she looks like a lil doll in her dress.

I agree with Dee that finding the fabric is half of the fun. I get amazed at how they turn out. In the past somebody on the forum had mentioned cheeptrims.com. It never dawned on me that they sold ribbon. If you get 100 yard spools you can get 7/8" grossgrain for 9cents a yd. They also have the ball fringe. Just an idea to help save ya'll some money to this addiction I enable!

Uh ohÂanother one of those things as hubby will say, that I start upÂspreading all my materials, tools, and whatnot all over the front room. I just finally got all the scrapbooking stuff moved! (I make a memory book for each of my Kindergartners but this year I told myself would be the last since they upped the numbers to 31 and making 31 was just tooooooo much!).

I will be emailing you for the pattern. I even showed DH some of the pics and he thought they were adorable. His first comment? "Where did she get the fabric?" :)
