New roof--paint under drip edge?

Kind of a very specific question here. We are getting a new roof. As part of the process, some of the fascia boards were replaced. The roofers then installed the "drip edge" flashing on the fascia. Question is, is it OK to install this flashing over unfinished wood? The new fascia boards have not been primed or painted, so the drip edge flashing is sitting on top of "raw" wood in those places. Is this customary? Should we be concerned about water getting under there and causing rot down the road?

Thanks,

Chris
