Maybe the sanding wasn't good but you'd have a hard time proving it. If someone paid me to sand a floor they were going to stain themselves, then called me a MONTH later to look at something that looks like your floor, I'd laugh heartily at the suggestion that the sanding was to blame. First of all, penetrating stain should be applied to freshly sanded wood, not something that's been sitting for a month. The stain is applied, allowed to absorb, then the excess is removed. I see nothing in your picture that tells me the sanding was done poorly. The stain obviously wasn't applied correctly. At this point you could possibly find a real floor finisher to use DuraSeal Renovator color keyed with Jacobean stain to see if the stain can be made more uniform. Renovator dissolves the stain, allowing it to be worked. I'm assuming Minwax stain was used but I suspect Renovator would work. Other options would be complete resanding or possibly paint. I'm not a fan of floor painting but perhaps you could tape off 2' squares on the diagonal and make a checkerboard with half painted and the other half with the existing stain. It might even look like you did it on purpose.

Yup. Next time, either start them all at the same time, or raise up the little pots so that the plants are all at the same height, then put the lights very close to the leaves. Not knowing where you live (and when you can plant them outside), I could suggest that the super tall ones that you plant them lying down so that only the top leaves stick up. If planting out is a long way off, I would cut those very tall ones to above the first set of leaves, then cut the tops to about 6" and root them in water (or soil). Then you will have more sturdy plants to put in the garden when the time comes.

Thank you. I have been neglecting my gardens so much this spring lol. I am keeping all my roses but have been moving and removing alot of the livestock "toxic" type plants and replacing with non toxic and food/fruiting plants. So basically everything is a disaster haha. We also are expanding our veggie garden quite a bit so I can fit in a few more 4x8 raised beds. I have roses, bananas and other crazy plants stuffed in my veggie garden too now. We are also making new goat and pig pastures. Its been so hot & muggy that it has been slow going. I hope fall comes early!! Which rose society do you belong to? I keep thinking I need to join a rose society. I am almost out by Callahan. A tour might be fun if/when I ever get my stuff together, lol. I dont really have a fancy garden or anythibg just hodge-podge flowerbeds and pot ghettos with a bunch of farm animals mixed in Haha. I wish you were my neighbor! It would be a huge improvement over the ones I have now lol. We live in an area with lots of crowing roosters and people with llamas, horses, etc not everybody likes to be woke up at 5 or 6 am to rooster serenades. :) but I like it. We got these 2 little Nigerian Dwarf girls recently. They are so little, smaller than the bottle baby Lamancha doeling I have even though they are a few weeks older than her.
