I can't help but see this not as a GW problem, but a problem with whoever designs your hardware's software. I use Firefox with the free Adblock Plus and Adblock Plus Pop-Up add-ons. I have no pop-ups whatsoever on GW: not even if I hover the mouse over the green words. (And no pop-ups anywhere else, either.) Of course, I'm not using an iPad or a smart phone, but a desktop and a laptop. Windows 7 on both (even the brand-new laptop). Not up-to-the-minute; not trendy; doesn't fit in my pocket; not Apple. But no pop-ups!

"they get watered whenever the soil is even a little dry" It could be something as simple as over-watering as that often shows up as yellowed new growth. All depends on what you mean by "whenever the soil is even a little dry" as that could easily be interpreted as excessive watering. Surface soil that looks a little dry is in no way an indication that they need water. It is the moisture level down at the roots that counts. And even there the soil needs to be mostly dry before watering. Dave

What is your soil like? Is it heavy with clay? I've had newly-planted Autumn Blaze look peaked like this in the past and it was always due to the soil staying too wet. And it only occurred in the lower areas of my fields during rainy summers. Despite this, many of the trees still lived but they were stuck in neutral for years and I had to cut my losses. Once a tree's vigor is lost it can take a long time to recover. I wouldn't ever label Autumn Blaze as super hardy. In my experience, the tree suffers sunscald, frost crack, and tip die-back at a much higher rate than other maple cultivars touted as zone 3 and 4 hardy. Once established with a fattening trunk and mature bark beginning to form they might be fine, but I've seen a zone 3 central Minnesota winter cull many younger, smaller trees.

Might it be some critter that bored into the stems? When that happens to mine, it's usually a tiny caterpillar that sometimes hides within the curled up leaf, the stem has been broken - or nibbled through. Your tomatoes look very healthy, and it's a small portion that appears to be affected, so I would probably remove and dispose of the dead leaves.
