Friday time to spill

I don't mean spill your drink. Come on all you lurkers and posters... at least check in and say Hi.

So far I have the weekend off but I've not made plans. My tractor needs some work if I get free time and then I have a dozen hours of mowing to do. Only supposed to rain tonight but if things are wet enough I might actually have free time. I didn't have any luck shoe shopping this week so I could take a run to the city. There is some grocery shopping that needs to be done but I so hate weekend crowds.

Checking in to say Hi!
Going to the outdoor movies tonight with assorted kids and neighbors. A summertime Friday night tradition at my house for the fourth year! A great way to unwind from a hectic week!

Wish I had a drink to spill ... told myself I wouldn't indulge anymore. Had one drink too many a while back and turned into my mother - yikes. Said that it's not worth it - gosh I loved a few beers - especially when it's raining, when working on some home improvement (yeah, with power tools - not always a good mix), after mowing the lawn, etc. Figured those couple beers equalled a lot of unnecessary calories .. and if I wasn't gonna get a good buzz, why bother. Hummmmmm - maybe time to re-think that logic...
No real plans for my weekend - band I enjoy, Big Sky, is playing in some street party Saturday night and I might check that out. Anyone else like Celtic Rock - such as Seven Nations?

Thanks Jo, I started with one clump of Undulata and now it's the ground cover for that entire side of the house. Sagae was half dead when I stuck it over there 2 years ago and basically walked away. I'm not thrilled with the color combination but it loves it there.

The last of the green pepper soup the neighbor gave me plus fried green tomatoes and I also fried some brussel sprouts before they went bad. Never tried that before, they got a little too brown, but tasted alright. It's almost 9pm. and I'm getting hungry for "something". Had veggies and dip, but that's not hitting the spot. ha. Maybe a little bit of cottage cheese.

We had spaghitti with meat sauce, and salad. I had a angel food cake mix, was in a white bag and I can't remember the name, I think it was for resturant use that my cousin gave me. It only called for water. I mixed it and poured it into a half sheet cake pan lined in parchment. OMG was it good. I never would have believed it came from a package had I had it somewhere. I ate mine plain with coffee. The boys dipped theirs in chocolate flavored Cool-Whip.

Spaghetti, and homemade meatballs from yesterday. I really love the meatball recipe, but it takes many hours of prep (which I usually try to do the day before) for a large batch. Then my basil plant could not provide sufficient foliage for the 3/4 C of minced fresh basil, and a trip to TJ added to the time. Luckily, I still had frozen sauce, so that part was simple. The garlic bread task was delegated out to a family member.
