Awesome CL search tip
Comments (14)lyban if I could figure out how to start working with Reader ANYONE can, lol! Pour yourself a cup of coffee, curl up and start at the link below. I spent a good amount of time working my way back and forth through the different topics to figure it all out and I still have much to learn. I already have a Google email account and would be lost without the calendar, both are linked through my cell phone (Palm Pre) and I can't imagine living without either. Reader so far has been awesome to play with. I don't know anything about Macs - I haven't "tasted the kool aid" - as my brother would say. I have been very happy with my PC, especially after switching to the Firefox browser. Here is a link that might be useful: Google Accounts Help...See MoreI hate my Ektorp. Ideas to fix it?
Comments (26)If you only got it a few days ago--take it back. Trying to get into all the elaborate, VERY time consuming and complicated options discussed (new pillows, replacing filling, getting kids to abuse cushions!) all sounds like far far too much time and effort for something you don't like and that isn't comfortable. I know very well that the Ektorp is heavy and very tough to maneuver; we just bought one for my daughter's new apartment. However it really is worth it to take it back to IKEA immediately and resolve the refund as well as you can, then move on. Keep in mind IKEA is not a fly by night operation so tell the return staff and/or manager your situation and hopefully they will work with you. Not to mention you certainly aren't the only person who's ever bought a couch and then didn't like it. They won't be shocked that it's been opened...how the heck else would you know it was the wrong purchase? ;) Then take your time and find a couch you like and that is comfortable. And last but far from least, sorry for this bad experience. I've certainly BTDT with furniture and I know well that sick feeling of having spent a lot of money on the wrong major piece that is now sitting in front of me making me feel like a fool. But I also know that in the greater scheme of life, getting rid of that wrong major piece is probably the best choice. Good luck!...See MoreIf You Have Ektorp Sectional.....
Comments (6)Ttodd, it really doesn't bother me the sectional overlaps the windows a bit, but to tell you the truth I didn't have much choice. ;) The sectional was the best option for us in this room, since it's the family room and provided the most seating that I could tuck in on two walls. This is the room that has the large mantle and bookcases on one wall, french doors and the TV on the other wall .. that left the two walls for seating and we have center windows in the front rooms. I've kind of gotten used having to take the good with the not so great sometimes to make things work in our house. *LOL*...See MoreHelp on comfy slipcovered sofa
Comments (14)Judy G, above you mention a bench seat is more comfortable but I wonder about it getting saggy looking and are there any other downsides? I only have had 3 cushion sofas. Also how do you think the Capris brand rates on expense side? I went to their website and they don't list retailers so asked for some with my FL zip code. One more question for a design pro- what do you think of slip covered couches? To me they look a little sloppy but I do like that it can be washed....See Moredjsaw
