What new product are you dying to have?

I was dying to have the coluzzle starting kit but I got that the other day, now I am thinking I want the alphabet template to go with it. Aghhhh.... This is a never ending cycle. So what are you dying to get? Penny

Actually, right now I'd really like my own circle cutter. I use the one that my CMC provides when I go to the crops so when I do crop at home, I can't make circles or ovals.

But then I go through a several week phase where I don't crop at home at all and it makes me think I would have wasted the money. That's why I haven't bought one yet.

and I always want more punches. :)

Actually, my sil showed me the Mulberry Paper, I'd like to try a page using that.

"Damping off" is a term used to describe what happens when a seedling suddenly topples over..the little stem will look like it went mushy right at the soil line. You can use a potting mix to do them in a humidity chamber (in a baggie or under a soda jar, etc.) if you will dampen the soil by hand mixing and not drench it until it is soggy wet. I will just tell you what I use and you can make the comparison. I use very low water nozzles...3/4 to 1 gallon per hour. I have no timer, so they stay on all during the sunlight hours. The medium is gravel in one pan and chicken or turkey grit in another. The sand was washed, rinsed, bleached, and rinsed some more. The sand/gravel was taken from a gravel bar on the lake. I screened it through 1/4 inch screen to take out the larger rocks and then through a window screen to take out the fine stuff. If the particles were round they would be like BB shot. It does not lock up or look like there are no air holes down into it when wet. I have the pan bottoms drilled full of 1/2 holes with screen wire over them to prevent the sand pouring out. I almost never loose a cutting. Right now I am trying an experiment using composted pine bark soil conditioner, and composted cotton burrs as a medium. Both are working with rose cuttings. I believe the composted pine bark is better...tends to be a bit coarser. Under mist all you need is something to hold the cutting upright until it has rooted, and not dry out around the root area. If you will use something that drains better, you can mist more often and not let those leaves dry out. Before I re-use my pans, I pour boiling water or fungicide (usually alternate) through them. You didn't say what you are trying to propagate, so I can't comment further, but for woody ornamentals it needs to be in full sun with mist. Sunlight is what makes them root faster under mist than under a humidity chamber and in shade. Hope this will give you something to consider. I am not sure I would reccommend the pine bark for re-use. I can see where gravel/sand is less likely to grow things you don't want. Another forum member and I are doing this experiment, but we are doing them directly in pots, so the medium will not be re-used.

Sally Hansen Hand creme in the orange tube is for reducing age spots and aged hands. I don't use it for that purpose. I put it on my feet and heels and it gets rids of the roughness and prickly dead skin after a few uses. Before using this, I was constantly scrapping the dead skin off with that PED thing followed by the sanding paper to smooth the dead skin. Not anymore. This stuff is a keeper. I have to get another tube.

You planted the grass at exactly the right time. The end of summer is THE best time of year for northern grass seed to go down. Reseeding fescue type lawns is a tradition and a ritual that you need to get used to. Fescue is a bunch grass that does not spread. Kentucky bluegrass is a sod forming type plant that spreads. With your shade fescue is going to be your only option, so just put that in your mind to reseed as necessary at the end of August. By doing it at the end of August that gives you time to evaluate the density of the grass coming in. If it's not dense enough you still have time at the end of Sept to put more down. By seeding this time of year you will sprout every summer annual weed there is. Crabgrass is one of those weeds. This, alone, is good enough reason to seed in the early fall. Crabgrass will never get a good hold on your lawn because it needs full sun. It might germinate, but it will suffer badly without enough sunlight. I realize Mother Nature has Her own thoughts about watering, but as much as you can you should follow the following guidelines. Watering: Deep and infrequent is the mantra for watering. This is for all turf grass all over the place. Deep means 1 inch all at one time. Put some cat food or tuna cans around the yard, and time how long it takes your sprinkler(s) to fill all the cans. Memorize that time. That will be the time you water from now on. My hose, sprinkler and water pressure takes 8 full hours to fill the cans. Your time will likely be less. I like gentle watering. As for watering frequency, that depends on the temperature. With temps in the 90s, deep water once per week. With temps in the 80s, deep water once every 2 weeks. With temps in the 70s, deep water once every 3 weeks. With temps below 70, deep water once a month. Note that you have to keep up with quickly changing temps in the spring and fall. This deep and infrequent schedule works in Phoenix and in Vermont, so it should work for you. The reason for deep and infrequent is to grow deeper, more drought resistant roots and to allow the soil to dry completely at the surface for several days before watering again. If it rains, reset your calendar to account for the rainfall. By following this guide you will minimize summer weeds and develop a deep rooted, drought resistant, turf. Also you should have your yard helper set his mower up to the highest setting. Tall fescue develops deeper roots (erosion control), helps shade the soil keeping it cooler, and shades out the weed seeds that do germinate.

Thanks! Oakley -yay for Aquage! That brush looks amazing. Funkyart which style do you think runs wider? My feet feel much better. My left foot doesn’t hurt at all anymore when I have them on. The right foot still does but I suspect it will take awhile for that foot to settle down. I really need a pair of comfortable (standard work with almost anything black) boots/booties but don’t really like their styles. Theres one that’s ok but I wish the toebox was shaped a little different. Going to order more sandals. Im going to look into some of the other sandals mentioned here too. Thanks Eld. Yeon -The small bottle (they have a large size too) has a dropper and I just put a drop on the applicator and run it along the top. Another drop for the bottom and drop right at the beginning of the spooly brush to use on my brows. It sounds like a lot but I have over half a bottle still. I don’t recommend brushing the oil on the lashes with the spooly brush (mascara wand) because the oil is so thick it just beads up. It’s kind of gunky feeling but doesn’t irritate the eyes at all. I do it right before bed and sleep with it on. In the morning I just rub my eyes. It seems some of its absorbed in because there’s less. ETA - Thanks for suggestions about exercises. I was thinking there was probably stretches or something I could do to help. I'll check it out. Justerrilynn -They look great! And nice ZZ plant too.

A few weeks ago I went to a scrapbook convention in Arlington, TX and took a class about how to use Zig Twin tip markers. Even though I hate my own handwriting (and currently use my computer for my journaling) I think I HAVE to have a big set of these pens. They have four sets, and I would love all four but each one (with 48 pens)costs $100.00! I keep looking for a good deal on one of these pen sets but none of the craft stores in my area carry them. I would even settle for a used set. Anyone out there want to part with their set?

Hi- this is the first time I have posted here, but I am a scrap book maniac. Right now I want the Fiscars rotary blade paper cutter. My friend has it and does not like it, but I love it. Unfortunately she does not want to get rid of hers - darn!

Ooh, that would have to be the new dragonfly punch from McGill (part of their new outdoor series). Or the frog. They're SO COOL! Have you seen these babies?! Hold me back! :o)

I'd also like to get the Coluzzle templates; the strong arm punch (much cheaper than a power punch!); and lots of other things!!! LOL I have a Fiskars oval cutter that I personally don't use alot if someone wanted to swap somethin'. Have any of you tried the doodle cutter? It's pretty handy for cutting...anything! :o)

I would LOVE to have a Xyron machine, but can't see spending that much on one. Also, i think I would go through the rolls of adhesive fast!

Definitely those punches, too! I am punch deprived. My LSS doesn't see the different shapes as necessities. I do!!! LOL!!!
