Male Bashing - Part 99

Once again, I ask that all of the women who post here (as infrequent as it is) are not categorized as "male bashers". Some of these posts are more than 3 years old.

Why don't we start some refreshing, engaging and positive posts?

Simple solution, Barbara. If they don't do it, there'll be nothing to notice.

However, in a forum focusing upon relationships between the sexes I think it unlikely that gender-wide characterizations can be avoided.

Speaking for myself, I'm happy to read whatever opinions are expressed. And I'm happy to reply with my own from time-to-time.

In other words, shut up? Not gonna happen.

Women express themselves with words. When we need to get something off our chests, it's usually not the good stuff, it's the stuff we have a problem with, and that can be interpreted as "male bashing". Especially on this forum where, as asolo said,we focus on the relationships between the sexes.

If men would just quit doing the stupid things women "bash" them about, there wouldn't be anything to notice either. Hmmmm or maybe I misinterpreted you? Maybe that's what you meant in the first place?

Called 2 appliance parts stores yesterday
Q

caryscott: "Always consider the source. Some appliance repair folks of a certain age and gender often have an attachment to yesterday that can impact their recommendations." Do not discount the effect of advertising on "conventional wisdom." Ask 100 randomly selected tire store salespersons what is the best category of tire for driving on wet roads at 40-50 degrees Farenheit, and 99 of them will "recommend" an all-season tire, which is precisely the worst of the possible recommendations. The salespeople, who have never seen objectively conducted tests on the relative traction of all-season vs. "summer" tires on wet pavement, therefore do not understand that the very same chemical technology that makes a tire with a non-aggressive tread stick to snow also causes water to stick to the tread (that is, causes the tread to fail effectively to shed water) under rainy conditions, creating a water-to-water interface where the rubber (consequently does not) meet(s) the road. The salespeople have been influenced by tire maker advertising -- every tire that we make is perfect for all conditions -- and the salespeople know that the customers also have been influenced by the same advertising, and "the customer is always right." For an appliance salesperson, the incentive to give reinforcement to an urban legend -- "there are problems with any washing machine that is not exactly like your mother's washing machine"-- is an attractive path to a commission on a sale that might be made by encouraging the customer to feel good by reaffirming the urban legend with "insider" information.

I gotta tell you, this weekend was hell! We didnt say much to each other. He informed me that he was leaving on Wednesday for Ottawa for the entire week. Im ok with that. I have a very important appointment coming on the 13th of this month.. Ive been waiting 6 months to see this doctor for a serious matter pertaining to my health. Im scared to death to go alone. So me. my "dumb, wacked out self" thought that he would have offered to take me. (what the hell is wrong with me turkeytrott?) I dont believe him silversword!!! I tried to talk to him this weekend with regards to the house. He didnt respond, so I asked "are you going to leave it all up to me?" Yes he said!!! Then he reminded me that "I was the one that wanted this marriage over with" "If only I would stop with my "suspicions"" we would never have a problem! He told me that it had been "years" since hed been unfaithful to me! YEARS!!! (yet I have his phone bill proving that he called several escorts services, I also have him on TAPE calling a hooker to his room, I hear her when she comes in all the "small talk" then the rest of what that bas***d did with her) I was advised by my lawyer not to reveal any of this to him. Even though there is a thing called "no fault" divorce. It could be an ace in the hole sort-to-speak when it comes to explaining that he was playing Russian roulette with my life every time he was intimate with me. I dont know people Ive been crying my freaking eyes out all freaking morning! This is so tough!

Sexless Marriage Part '2'

Hello Again, I guess I need to reply to all....First to Popi, I do take care of my husband. If I compared love to picking up empty beer cans an dthe lack of "Compassion" thereof love I DONT WANT IT. My husband is a very good person, willing to help anyone out (Except me) he does work hard to support us and I do appriciate it. The last time our son and I tried to "Take a Drive" and do something nice because we love him we ended up turning around before we were half way there and my then 12 year old ending up in tears. Your house should be a home, a home filled with love and compassion and as I stated earlier, I don't mean just sex. I just had a job interview and start work in a town that is an hour plus away. In my house, If I don't do it, then it dosent get done. Just to make a point, I haven't touched the garbage for a week. It's all stacked up and smelling Really good right now, and guess what... It will still be there next weekend if I don't take it out. A marriage is not a meeting of each other giving 50%, it each one giving 100%. In my house I feel as though I am giving 200%. I cook, clean, do laundry, mow the law you get the picture and all I ask is for a little compassion (Sex would be fine to). His defination of compassion is getting a treat at the grocery store, a pop or a piece of Death by Chocolate Cake... My husbands problem is, he dosent like to be alone. He is not in love with me...I would say he hasnt been for years. He just wants someone in his house to take care of him~ As I also mentioned above, I do love my husband, but I'm not in love. All I have ever asked from him was compassion! I am too young to give up on "Compassion", Suntide, does your husband show you compassion. Because there is much more to life than a "Roommate". I cant and wont tell you to leave, but ask for a little compassion! Thanks! mommof1

jeaninwa...I think we're on the same page.

Let everyone say what they want the way they want. If there weren't any disagreements or rants there'd only be 1/3 of a forum. Heaven knows its slow enough as it is. (Ha!)

Hi all. I think I've been totally misinterpreted. I am not saying that we should have differences of opinion - by all means, yes! Life would be extremely boring if we didn't.

All I am saying is that I don't like to be categorized with the phrase "male basher". Believe me, I have plenty in which to bash the male sex. But I decided four years ago when I met my current BF, that he did nothing to me. Why should I hold all the past mistakes against him? He doesn't deserve it.

Just my Tuesday morning (without coffee) thoughts.

Dang, isn't this the slowest?

What do single people talk about anyway? Just normal stuff like everyone else. The weather, sports, blah blah blah.

Or we can go real personal, and share feelings and revelations. Gawd, isn't that scary?

OK, I'll go start a new thread......
