The hairspray didn't seem to budge the ink at all. That's one of the first things I tried - it has worked on regular ball point ink before and I had hoped it would work on this. The gel ink is maybe different. Just having the shirt soaking in water lightened the stain some, but I don't think I'll ever get it all out. I've tried several things, but nothing really seems to work. I sure appreciate your help, though. Thanks, Cindy

Well, it wasn't necessarily the cartridge. After many repeated paper jams, the thing died. STINKERS, I'm only half way thru the job. Now I have to pay to get the rest printed somewhere and then buy a new printer. DH ran out and luckily got the the ink store right before they were locking the door! So a new ink, no printer. What luck :( Thank goodness we have a little independant print shop right around the corner. I can run over tomorrow AM and print it out myself. Still, the entire venture has eaten all the profits of the job. GGG

Took me a little time to figure out that I had to highlight the name of the printer, then right click on it in order to get the, "Set as default printer." words to show, but I finally got it. Thanks again!

I've tried every solvent and chemical in my house and nothing worked. So, I contacted Colonial Patterns where I buy my patterns. Here is their reply: Dear Deborah-------Transfer ink does not wash out of all fabrics especially polycotton materials. Most of the time it will wash out of 100% cotton fabric, but sometimes individuals transfer too much ink to the material to have it wash out. There is one secret about transfer ink that most people don't know about and that is that it hates direct sunlight. For some reason, direct rays of sun will cause transfer ink to fade away. If you can not cover up your transfer lines with wider embroidery stitches, we suggest that you try exposing the lines to sunlight.
