How to remove 'gel' ink from a shirt ??!!
Comments (5)The hairspray didn't seem to budge the ink at all. That's one of the first things I tried - it has worked on regular ball point ink before and I had hoped it would work on this. The gel ink is maybe different. Just having the shirt soaking in water lightened the stain some, but I don't think I'll ever get it all out. I've tried several things, but nothing really seems to work. I sure appreciate your help, though. Thanks, Cindy...See MoreHow to remove ink strains from Carpet.
Comments (5)A clean cloth that's been wetted down with plain rubbing alcohol works wonders. The method is very important though.. DO NOT RUB! Take the cloth and dab the spot, then move to a clean spot on your cloth and dab again. Continue this and change cloths as often as you need to. You don't want to spread the ink by rubbing the clean part of the carpet with your dirty cloth. Once most of the ink is off of the carpet fibers, you can actually pour a bit of alcohol right on the spot to try to get into the bottom of the carpet. Continue dabbing and using fresh areas of your cleaning cloth....See Morehow to restore color to leather after removing ink
Comments (5)Actually lazboy had referred me to a leather company and after giving them the cover # they can mix some color up. I don't know what it would cost, but I put extra leather conditioner in that area (which significantly darkened the leather--gesh) and now am wiping it with rubbing alcohol to remove the build up and hopefully fill in that lightened area with natural color; so far so good, but I'd be more careful in the future. It's surprisingly easy to ruin a nice piece of leather furniture. I'll buy a big thing of lexol next and condtion the whole thing. Thanks!...See MoreInk stain removal?
Comments (8)I have a Kathy Van Zeeland wallet that is cream color. I have had it for years now. The first time I used it I accidently got ink marks on it while in my purse. I changed wallets because I couldn't get the ink out. I tried hairspray, WD-40, bleach, alcohol, 100% acetone, nail polish remover, and some house hold cleaners- no luck. I then decided to try mixing bleach with baking soda and it worked!! After the ink had been on there for at least a year it took it off. Now I can reuse the wallet. I took the bleach mixed with baking soda and a Q-tip sturring it often and applied to ink. Then I took the baking soda and spread it over the wet part of the bleach and baking soda mixture and let it sit for a bit then took a soapy wash cloth wiped it clean then I rinsed it with just a wet wash cloth and dried. Be very careful tho when using because the 100% acetone worked but only by removing a small part of the vinyl and I didn't want that to happen with this mixture and it didn't....See Moreioanak
