If the sun would come out of all of the clouds I could take some really nice pictures. That one is from last Sunday and they are really blooming like crazy now. There are white iris naturalized in fence rows around here it's beautiful. Texas is great in the 5 minutes of spring we get before the hot, 8 months of summer comes on!

We have a good friend who hated his shaded and sickly lawn so he covered most of his back yard with a giant deck and built a great big multi-platformed, non-walled tree house just off it. When he throws parties, he moves all of his indoor furniture outdoors... but I always end up in the treehouse with a bottle of wine and a couple of friends overlooking the chaos below. You have to climb one of those nailed-in ladders to get to it, but I've never been able to resist doing so... no matter how high my heels are at the time. Things I've learned in life: 1) Never wear mirrored shoes with a skirt. 2) Never climb into a treehouse while wearing a skirt. (I'm beginning to understand why my mom expressly forbade me to wear skirts when I was little.)

Cindy...I'm so sorry to hear about Chloe... She was such a sweet little girl and I know how much you loved her and she, you. I feel so bad because I know you are hurting right now and I wish I could be there to give you a real hug. Obviously, Fairchild Vizcaya Gardens (well worth the trip) Metro Zoo and Parrot Jungle (if you're an animal lover too) Tropical Fruit and Spice Park R&F Orchids (south and west of Miami) The region known as Redlands is filled with tropical nurseries and garden centers (many are strictly wholesale though, so check) Nice neighborhood drives into Coral Gables, and Key Biscayne. There's always South Beach if you haven't been there. Are you driving out to the Everglades--not far from Miami.
