I like both of them. Benchley's quote reminds me that if they hadn't stuck to coming up so early we might not ever get to see them bloom. At least the bulbs survive. Smiles. And good old E.B.White. Spring has sprung here, even though we are getting rain for a few days, which actually is a good thing. I plan on rescuing a bunch of daffodils and allow them to live in my living-room so we can enjoy each other. Thanks for such a nice week of quotes!

Thanks for reminding me to read more things by Karen ( Isak) Dinesen. Back to the quote...how awful if you always knew what was going to happen. It's the not knowing and either trying to exact outcomes,or sitting back and watching things unfold that keeps us going and going and going. Example..if I had known when I opened my eyes this morning that it was snowing,I'd still be in bed instead of sitting here reading this great quote.

Improving MY world myself is fine...it's when others want a say in my world that I often balk...lol I'm content to tend my garden and let others tend theirs. But it's hard just now as DS and DIL bought new house and I would love to suggest plants...lol josh
