two page spread

I am fairly new to scrapbooking and I am just discovering how much nicer my book looks if I can do two pages on the same topic or with the same colors. For instance to do two pages of Christmas with the same color theme.What do some of you do when you just can't make your topic into two pages? For instance, the book I am making my mother-in-law, I will be doing a page of her four sisters visiting. I have one photo of them and certainly can't try to stretch that visit into two pages? any ideas for future reference would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Usually when Idont' have enough pics for a 2 page layout I jsut do the one page.....But I do coordiante the colors of the paper; the bg, or any other paper I've used in that layout for the other page as well. That way they pages will look good together even though they are about 2 different set of pictures.

Or if you really want two pages use one page to talk about each sister or quick family history or what they did on that visit.

Thanks, guys! My wife is actually a little nervous about the magazine coverage, because she doesn't want everyone in town calling me up and wanting me to help them with their gardening problems! Of course, I'd love to do that, but I do have a bunch of projects at home she wants me to focus on. I'm finishing our basement right now, which is definitely cutting into garden preparation time this season, although I did manage a few hours to prune the fruit trees on Saturday. Oh I definitely do this (although I hadn't thought of the laundry idea - thanks!). I always take at least 3 pictures of an event too - just enough for a 1 page spread if it's something small. :) When we had our first snowfall of the season (in January!!! Very late!), I made sure I had pictures of the snowman making in progress, rather than just the finished product. I also took pictures of snow angels and Katherine standing in the snow to show how deep it was. The entire time I had thoughts goign through my head of how the page would look. It's a complete obsession!!! :) (can I possibly put any more exclamation points in this post??)

I'm with Prissy on this one. Try mounting the photos on colours that are in the confetti paper. I think I would match them up that way, and then maybe somewhere amoungst that I might add some tiny fish stickers or a fish diecut?? Does that help any? ~Mar~

Gee-what great ideas. I don't know that she has pictures of her younger days. Of course, if I would have thought ahead that would have been a great idea. Thanks for the input.

I run in to the same problem all the time. I just keep an envelope and throw miscellaneous pictures in it. Then, when I have an event that only takes one page, I throw the miscellaneous pictures on the facing page. I just make sure that I use the same layouts and colors so that it doesn't clash.
