Pages before Pictures

Now that I'm totally into this hobby, it's amazing how much my photography skills have changed (for the better, I think!) For instance, I would have never taken a picture of my 3 yr old helping put clothes in the washer....but I saw some "laundry" stickers at Michael's, and CLICK! I realized what a good little helper she is and a new page was born. Do any of you "work backwards" like this - getting a page idea, then taking the pictures to fill it? (I hope that's not considered "cheating"! HA)

Oh I definitely do this (although I hadn't thought of the laundry idea - thanks!). I always take at least 3 pictures of an event too - just enough for a 1 page spread if it's something small. :)

When we had our first snowfall of the season (in January!!! Very late!), I made sure I had pictures of the snowman making in progress, rather than just the finished product. I also took pictures of snow angels and Katherine standing in the snow to show how deep it was. The entire time I had thoughts goign through my head of how the page would look.

It's a complete obsession!!! :)
(can I possibly put any more exclamation points in this post??)

Dear Anne,
Not yet but you can bet I have got some good ideas headed my daughter's way. Unbeknowest to her though. LOL I do have a picture of her when she was about 1 where I had droped the vacuum hose to get the phone and when I came back she was vacuuming the floor. I love it still. It is also cute if you can arrange it to dress your child in part of your work clothes and say take a picture of them at say your desk or some place assoicated with your job. I have a picture also of my daughter at my husband's desk at about the same age that is great too. Penny

I think you would do it in Word...when I do something like that, I have the print layout view showing (bottom left) and then I move the margins out of the way by sliding them over with my cursor....there are probably other ways to do it in Word, but this is the way I do it.

On several occassions...(okay, all the time) I get my sons to "pose" for extra pictures so that I will have enough to choose from to do a two page spread. My mind just reels when I see some new stickers..it makes me crazy until I can think of somewhere to go where I can take pictures to go with some "cool new stickers", and my albums match the colour scheme in my living room. .."My name is Mar, and I am a scrapbooking addict" LOL
