To respectfully disagree: they cannot fly well after they fledge. Not robins, anyway. The can scoot, flutter, and ladder up a tree with the help of their limited flight. They have little control of the brakes or lift. Kind of like stepping on the gas and not knowing how to steer or where the brakes are. Flying is developmental, not learned. Meaning they don't watch their parents and say "Hmmm, I see, if I just beat harder, I can gain more lift." Anyway, the parents are very attentive and try to lure the babies away from danger. The babies follow the parents because that is where the food comes from. This is a vulnerable time for the chicks, because they often end up on the ground and prey to predators.

Hi there--that set is wonderful! Very nice. Go to Google, and type in ::crochet or knitted baby clothes, there are a ton of sites. allfreeknitting.com has many, as does, ravelry.com. That's free to register.

The link does not work for me. Is it a link to a pic? If so you can put the pic directly into this discussion.
