Comments (5)He needed to stop yackin and get crackin! Instead of sittin around talkin pretty he should of been filling out his monthly Mastercard statement and headin for the post office! No wonder the interest keeps going up! Even our forefathers were deadbeats! My Mama always said "Pretty is as pretty does." I think there is much wisdom in that statement and the older that I become the more apparent it becomes...LALA TEE DAH Denny...See MoreSo what is it with men and ice cube shape?
Comments (31)Alright folks, I have a DH who is totally obsessed about his ice cubes. He refuses to use anything other than a square cube out of an ice tray. DH drinks bourbon and coke quite regularly. His explanation is that the square cube is larger and will not melt as fast. Obviously melting will cause the drink to get watered down which is undesirable. We use the ice from the icemaker to fill our cooler when we need to. For us it's cubes from the tray for all of our drinking refreshment. Unless we are making a frozen concoction. Then we usually use bagged ice. We slam the bag around and beat it up some with a mallet before putting it in the blender. We can't use the icemaker ice for this because it's usually "old tasting" since it sits there so long. I guess you'd say that we, well DH especially, are totally ice cube obsessed. Would you say TICO?...See Morewhat can I make for the men?
Comments (4)If you sew, you could make men boxers (if they wear them, or even if they don't). Since the Chiefs are doing so well this year, and being from KC, we're all big fans. I'm making boxers out of Chiefs fabric. The only problem is, I didn't buy enough and from what I understand it's sold out in the whole state of Missouri and won't be available again until sometime in December. We can buy all the other team fabrics too, so I'm making things out of them for relatives in other areas. Our WalMart has the Chiefs and Rams fabric for $5/yd. Hancock Fabrics has a wide array of team fabrics for $5.97/yd. and is also available on their website. My pattern is Simplicity 9958 and includes sizes XS - XL. That includes boys to large men. You can use up some of your excess fabric, or another option would be to make them out of flannel for warmth, or silk for luxury. My grandsons don't want the fly open, so I sew it shut. They like to wear them around the house. Hot chili pepper fabric would be cute or anything with food on it for the Chefs in the family. I also have a pattern for a fleece headband that everyone loves. Posie, I love your idea for the cookbook. My sister asked me to make a cookbook for her for Christmas with all my favorite recipes. Including some from that site would be fun. Thanks for that. One year I gave my BIL a cookbook, "Looneyspoons" by Janet and Greta Podsleski. He loved it, and they sat around reading the funny stories in it and died laughing. I hope this post gets more ideas. I could use some too. Barb...See MoreMen’s watch recommendations?
Comments (22)Great choice. It's a classic can't fail. Penny design, If you really want one but balk at the price, consider Tourneau's pre-owned. They always have good inventory and stand behind what they sell. They are refurbished and cleaned and come w a warranty. I recently bought a used Brietling for DH through them. He had bought a fake one at the market in Morocco just as a goof for like 30 bucks, and ended up liking it. (so not him, go figure). I was going to buy him a real one but I knew he would not want me to spend that much. I bought him a used one from Tourneau and it looks brand new for IIRC a third the price....See MoreSandiD
