Disney scrapbooking supplies

Hi all,

I'm hoping you can help me out. My MIL has been dabbling in scrapbooking, but hasn't really done any for herself. We're taking a family trip - all the grandchildren are going to be there - to Disney. I recently picked up a book by Creating Keepsakes on creating a scrapbook for your Disney trip. I thought if I gave her that and some Disney supplies (paper, die cuts, stickers, etc) for Mother's day that would give her motivation. Stickers I can find, but I don't know where to go to get Disney paper and such. Wal-mart and my local scrapbooking store don't have any. The nearest Micheal's or JoAnns is over 1/2 hour away - before I road trip I'd like to know if it's worthwhile! An on-line source would be even better.

Hi Michelle,

Here is a link for a book called Princess Collection (for girls) by Paper Pizazz. I know they have other books available. This book is 8 1/2 by 11....not sure of the size you wanted.

Thanks! That's just the type of stuff I'm looking for. I guess I should have mentioned that 8 1/2 by 11 is the size I need. I'm still kind of new to this scrapbooking stuff myself!

One of my duties when I worked in the Philadelphia Library was to maintain the clipping file. Every day I read a handful of local papers and clipped articles that might be useful to our patrons or staff. These papers only had a local circulation and were too small to be indexed in any of the major published indexes. This was back in the 70's before we had a computer on every desk and cubby. Retrieving a newspaper or periodical article meant locating the microfiche or microcard and using the appropriate readers. Newspapers in their original form were too fragile for long term storage unless in an archival setting - controlled temperature and humidity, light, dust and pollution free etc. In other words it was a royal P.I.A. - Any clipping that we deemed important was photocopied onto permanent paper - paper that was acid free, lignin free, and tear resistant. My favorite is Scrapbooks.com. Click on the KMA outlet icon and that will lead you to their on-site catalog. Also try typing Scrapbooking into your search and it will also give you a large list. I also bought various scrapbooking magazines and they have sites listed as well. Also e-bay has a listing of stores. I tried to paste in my whole list of sites, but it wouldn't work. I started my scrapbooking with CM (*reative *emories). They are a great source of information and most of the consultants are very helpful. The supplies can be expensive, but I believe it is the best place to start and then view the websites to buy supplies based on how you want your albums to look. I still use both, but the CM tools and things are still the best on the market. If you do not have a consultant near you, e-bay has CM supplies. Check the CM site though, you can locate a consultant that way. Current has a division just for scrapbook supplies called Times to Cherish. They have great paper, stickers and tools. Joann Etc also has an on-line site. Michael's does not sell on line, but you can look at what they carry. Good luck, you will really enjoy this hobby. Carol

As you well know for a small town we are bout over loaded with scrapbook stores. I have 4 huge ones within a 30 drive. None of the walmarts near me and i have 6 within a 30 drive with 4 being the 24 hr superstores have much of a selection and Micheals here carry hardly no scrapbook supplies anymore, i dont think that they can compete with all the specaility stores for it around anymore.

Do you have LSS (local scrapbook store)? Mine carries a number of Disney 8 1/2 x 11 prints. FYI, we took a trip to Disney in Dec. 1999 and I purchased a scrapbook there with the Disney Millenium celebration logo.

Hot off the Press aka Paper Pizzaz has several Disney books, they used to make (it may still be available) a paper book that was devoted entirely to Disneyland, and Disneyworld. They still do have several book titled "Mickey and Friends" "Mickey Playtime" and several Pooh books. Even your local Walmart should be carrying these, I know mine has several of them. They should also have the Mickey punch out books, one with Mickey alphabet, and Mickey and assorted characters. Walmart should also have Mickey and Pooh paper punches, usually kept with the rubber stamps, in the craft dept.. My daughter is a Mickey freak, so I have purchased all of these items at one time or another at Walmart, since I live so far away from a scrapbook store also. HTH Love Penny P.s. Sometimes if you call around to another walmart and they have the item you are looking for the store will ship it to your walmart. I recently found several Mickey scrapbook papers in a store where everything was priced at $1.00, so try looking for scrapbook supplies in all your local stores, you maybe surprised at the scrapbook supplies in other stores.

Unfortunately my local Wal-mart doesn't have Disney scrapbook items. I've checked. I know the local scrapbook store doesn't stock any either - but I may ask if they can order. I may just order it all on-line - otherwise I need to start calling Wal-marts and Michael's and figure out who has this stuff so I know whether to drive 30 minutes east or west to get it!
