After slab leak is fixed, new floor questions
Comments (0)I had a recent leak that ruined my floating laminate that was installed on a slab. I have a structural engineer coming Friday to give me advice on how to properly fix the leak. I will also do a french drain outside. Even with these fixes, I want to do something 'just in case'. I am thinking of installing sleepers on the concrete, then a plywood subfloor, then wood laminate. It seems to me that this would give some air flow under the floor, for any moisture issues, and IF I ever got more water under there, it would have space to evaporate. Any advice? And do they make plastic sleepers?...See MoreSink leaking into cabinet - what is the right way to fix?
Comments (9)Randy427 - any brand of caulk you recommend? We had nightmares with our shutters and one installer using stuff that yellowed in less than 4 months. Buying it myself makes me feel comfortable it is good and not subjected to extreme temps that could impact it's use. Also, for uninstalling, does the garbage disposal need to be disconnected? Or just the pipes? Bath sinks should be easy, the kitchen is the one causing my husband worry and liking a band-aid approach....See MoreREPLACING WOOD UNDER KITCHEN SINK DUE TO A LEAK WITH PVC
Comments (2)Looks really good and likely easier to clean than wood. I also like that you painted the interior of the doors and the bottom of the sink black. I, too, have a stainless steel sink (which I like) but I failed to realize that the black stuff that is on the bottom of each bowl sheds off if not painted. Ended up spraying clear spray paint on it after it was installed. Also like the idea of the battery powered "closet" light on the right side....See MoreNew sink installed and leaking after plumber's 3rd visit.
Comments (24)Hey there! Sorry to hear about the ongoing sink troubles you've been facing. It's frustrating that the piping is still leaking even after three visits from the plumber. From the picture you shared, it looks like the seams might be causing the issue. It could be a case of improper connections or maybe even using the wrong materials. I'm just a newbie here, so I don't have much experience, but I think it would be a good idea to reach out to a professional plumber in New York for some help. They might have the expertise needed to tackle this situation. I found this website you could check out https://newyorkplumberdrain.com. They might provide more information and help. In the meantime, you could try using plumber's tape or a sealant as a temporary fix to prevent further leaks until you find a permanent solution. LMK how it was solved....See MoreEmily9876
