Penny, My dad died a few years before my wedding as well and 15 minutes after reading your poem I am still crying. He was my best friend and i miss him dearly. When i married, i chose a church that had this triangle window high up almost in the rafters at the front of the church. No one could understand why i picked this particular church it was small and old, i finally the day of the wedding revealed to my closest family and friends that it was so my daddy could see me nice and clear. I too would love to use this poem in my wedding album. It takes a big heart for a person to share their words, talent and ability so freely. As you can tell everyone thanks u greatly? Do u have any anniversary poems....my mom in law is standing over my shoudler asking me if u do ...she has to come up with something to say at her parents 50th? :) Thanks again

Dear Tami, Here is a poem, I wrote for a girl who had a picture of her Great Grandmother over the crib of her baby, perhaps you can use it. I am still looking for the others I wrote. Love Penny Twinkling eyes shine down from the heaven's above To keep a special watch over the ones that they love So as you lay there, in your bed fast asleep, I'll help keep watch over you, and your soul to keep At the hint of any danger I'll sound the alarms I'll do everything in my power to keep you from harm. I'll be your special angel and walk with you each day, Stand there next to you as your run and play I promise to love and guide you like no other, That is my most important job, and I am proud to be your Great Grandmother.

In place of all the pig tails, cowlicks and braces, I see grey hairs, balding, and wrinkled faces. Skin tight clothing, has been replaced with elastic, And I maybe wrong, but "Have some of you had Plastic? Hot rod sports cars, with big engines that ran, have now been replaced with slow mini vans. Our biggest fear. was who to take to the prom, Now were wondering who's gonna care for mom! Getting caught outside with out a hall pass, has been replaced, with worries over last night's gas Who's going to win, next Friday night's game, Well let's face for men some things never change! We were just going to die, without a class ring! God! It's been years since I've seen that old thing! Sneaking a smoke in the old bathroom stall, is not nearly as fun as I used to recall. But being back together if just for this night, Has made all these memories seem so shiny and bright. So tonight we'll have fun and lie about our youth. After all at our age who'll remember the truth. I don't know if you wanted something in this fashion or not, but I wrote it for you. Love Penny

Four Generations here together, in a photo for all to see, Happens only so rarely, but luckily to me. Learning from each other, no matter what their age. Living our family history, here on this scrapbook page. A moment in time to treasure, and be remembered by one and all. Will mean so much to those in this picture, especially those so very small. For time goes by so quickly, like millions of grains of sand. And there'll be times when you wish, you could just once more hold onto their hand.
