Penny, My dad died a few years before my wedding as well and 15 minutes after reading your poem I am still crying. He was my best friend and i miss him dearly. When i married, i chose a church that had this triangle window high up almost in the rafters at the front of the church. No one could understand why i picked this particular church it was small and old, i finally the day of the wedding revealed to my closest family and friends that it was so my daddy could see me nice and clear. I too would love to use this poem in my wedding album. It takes a big heart for a person to share their words, talent and ability so freely. As you can tell everyone thanks u greatly? Do u have any anniversary poems....my mom in law is standing over my shoudler asking me if u do ...she has to come up with something to say at her parents 50th? :) Thanks again

When I left the house, on that fateful day, I thought I'd be right back, that I would be okay. You would have stopped me, if we would had only known, That this would be the last time, that I would leave our home. We never had the time, to really say goodbye, But, I see your love there for me in each tear that you cry. Although I was taken, God spared (her daughter's name) for you. He knew that you would need her, as much as she needed you. As my life slipped away, like tiny grains of sand. Fear not that I was alone, for it was Mike who held hand. I know you would give anything to take my place if you could. You thought you'd go first, like most parents should. But know I walk beside you, with each step that you make, The gentle breezes are my kisses, my love they couldn't take. When you feel you can't go on, another day you cannot wake. Remember you must, if only for (her daughter's name) sake. For she is a part of me, and she needs me too, My love for her is stong, as is my love for you. Try to dry those tears, that flow so freely from your eyes, We are still here together, I never said goodbye. It seems so strange, to hear just my feet. And there at the doorway, there is no one to greet. For so many years you were there by my side. Ready to lay down, or just take a ride. It never mattered to you, what it was we did. You were always there for me, doing whatever I bid. The touch of your fur, there upon my hand, Or for hours at my feet, where you would stand. You loved me forever, no matter my mood. Loved me still on the days, that I forgot your food. Dressed for success or in old blue jeans, Worn out sweaters, that were torn at the seams. How I was dressed never mattered to you, Your only desire was to keep me from being blue You've left me to go on, to that place in the sky. Friends don't believe the tears that I've cried. But while you're up there, remember you're no stray. Cause I'll come looking for you, again someday. Love Penny

Four Generations here together, in a photo for all to see, Happens only so rarely, but luckily to me. Learning from each other, no matter what their age. Living our family history, here on this scrapbook page. A moment in time to treasure, and be remembered by one and all. Will mean so much to those in this picture, especially those so very small. For time goes by so quickly, like millions of grains of sand. And there'll be times when you wish, you could just once more hold onto their hand.
