asphalt repairs

Hi

I have a gap between my paved driveway and the house foundation where some water is leaking into the basement.

As I'm trying to find the best way of closing that gap with something (the space there is about 2-3 inches wide and weeds get in there, too) it occurs to me that I ought to have several potholes, cracks and dips in the driveway fixed, too.

Does anyone here know what I can expect to pay for patching potholes? I don't believe I can do this myself. I know the cost varies locally, but am I looking at $500 or $5000? A ballpark would help me sort out my options.

Alternatively, is there another product I can use in the gap between paving and the house?

C.
