The 80s kinda passed me by. My hair would not achieve bigness (I guess I needed AquaNet!). I did love the shoulder pads, though. Still want to wear this dress? The dye of the satin faded in some areas over time so it was shades of lurid purple.

Hairspray pretty much sux anymore. They have changed the formulas to supposedly be safer for the environment. I just don't see how a firm hold hairspray could be bad in the environment but who knows, I sure don't! But all the ones that were good aren't any good anymore because of this reformulation....and if I understand correctly, it's only in certain states and if you go to Sally.com they will not sell the good old formulas to some certain states and of course Ohio(where I live) just happens to be one of the states that has a restriction. The only thing that is still pretty much OK is that Professional from Walmart the freeze one that pekemom mentioned. It's the only thing I'll buy anymore. If you don't want a firm hold I would suggest as some others have the Tressemme spray.

Absolutely. Lots of pleasant memories. I remember being with my best friend and her cousins and having a sprite and strawberry ice cream soda...I didn't think about it for years or have sprite with strawberry ice cream...but one day I did....immediately transported back to that night and sitting on her front porch. At an antique auction, I bid on a couple of wooden chairs that I liked. The auctioneer threw in a couple more. One of the big old wooden chairs....I call it my "grandpa" chair....smelled old and musty. The memory associated with that was the upstairs in my grandmother's house. I don't think she had climbed up those stairs in many years, but after she died, I went up there and I remembered the musty smell. She also dipped snuff. Seems like there was a little essence of snuff in there also. And the chair smelled just like it. I didn't find the smell offensive....kind of intrigued that it smelled like grandma's house.

Yes, I used a spray baste and hand quilted my grandson's quilt a few months ago. I didn't have any trouble with it. It's possible the straw needles I used may have had something to do with it.
