I went and bought a Swiffer Sweeper
Comments (11)I like the Swiffer sweeper. It's very handy for picking up dust and lint. Just not heavy stuff. I will never use the wejet again though. It made my cat very, very ill. It is well documented with our vet, and our poor cat suffered for a long time with bleeding paws and general illness for almost a year until we figured it out. We had his euthanasia booked and paid for. Then my son suggested the wetjet was the problem, and we stopped using it, and cancelled the euthanasia. He got better within two weeks, but remained scarred for the rest of his life. But the dry one is a dream....See MoreSwiffers aren't cutting it. Suggestions please??
Comments (33)Confession: I do not clean my floor. However, my cleaning people do this which I have never seen other than them. They have been cleaning for me for more than a decade. They do 3 bedrooms, L/D/K rather quickly with this system. My cleaning people clean the floor by vacuuming and then using an old wet towel wrapped around a broom which they use as a makeshift mop. They use a rubber band to wrap the towel around the broom head when the broom head attaches to the broom stick so the towel does not fall off. They put a bit of osmo cleaning solution in the water since that is what I have on my floor. They rinse the towel as needed and wring out the towel quite a bit so that it is not dripping as many mops can be. It also has enough surface area so that the job is quick. I once asked them why they don't use a mop and they said it works better. I am also thinking that a bit of "mass" on the broom head helps rub off the sticky bits that may be on the floor. This is what they do with all their houses. I am guessing that speed is of essence. I am not sure if this helps but I thought I would toss it in since speed too maybe of essence to the poster....See MoreQuestion About Swiffer Products
Comments (12)I don't know what type mop you have. The swiffer bottle is shaped to fit in the mop and has to be in the slot to let the cleaner come out. If your mop has a bottle that you could fill with the swiffer cleaner it might work. I have taken the the top off the swiffer bottle to refill but haven't had any luck with it not leaking. My Shark just takes plain water. I buy the distilled water at the grocery for 79 cents to use in mine. Also the pads that come with the Shark ( you get five of them and they are really nice) fit on the swiffer mop. Not having to buy the refill pads for the swiffer soon pays for the Shark Steam Mop. We have 8 small grandkids and they spill alot so I need a mop......See MoreFeather Duster or New Fangled Duster
Comments (6)Helen, I don't know the brand of mine. I bought them years ago at TJM or Marshall's, I think. One has a handle that can be articulated and extended. Makes cleaning fan blades and AC vents a ladderless job. They look like the Pure care on Amazon, but I don't really know. No identifying marks. The oxo extendable looks nice, but I like the articulating arm for fan blades, as I said. For hand dusting, tabletops, etc, I buy the yellow microfiber cloths at Restaurant depot by the dozen. They start life as dust cloths, after several washings move on to cleaning chores. Just don't wash them with cotton towels, and don't ever use fabric softener. Either mistake seems to kill some of the " magnetic" grab of the microfiber....See More- 17 years ago
