Sue, I loved it. Especially the ABC Album. What a great idea and I'm sure your Dad was thrilled with it.

Diane, Thank you for taking and posting these photos. I'm always way too busy and distracted to think of taking photos. You can see it was way far from full bloom this year. The good news though is that it will be perfection for my daughter's wedding June 5th. About the cake: it has now become famous among our friends. Dear David makes it every year. It is actually ground hazel nut flour with sourcream/chocolate frosting.

Picking up that booklet is a great suggestion--thank you for thinking of that sjmarq--I think we stopped at a visitor center a long time ago when we visited Duluth with our kids years ago but of course I didn't even think of that this time. Two years ago we also had a baseball tournament there but the games were scheduled so crazy that we didn't have much time to get to places in between during the day time. This year our team has a game at 8:30 in the morning and then not again until 5:30 in the afternoon and then not again until 1pm the next day so I'm hoping to fit in lots of sight seeing in between. The garden centers mentioned in the earlier postings will be a must from looking at their web sites. Thanks again for the suggestions sjmarq. Deb

I guess it depends on what you used for the background of your page. If you stuck your bits and pieces onto the 'cardstock' that comes with the album, then certainly use the back of it. I tend to use other paper for the background, nearly always a sheet of coloured cardstock. Then I slip in between the album page and the page protector. Then I do the same for the other side. I wouldn't use both sides of the coloured cardstock though, because I don't think it is sturdy enough. Looking at the finished product, it is usual to open the album and see a left hand side and a right hand side. How you get to that is entirely up to you. You may choose whatever look you want to. A matter of individual choice with what works for you. Jocelyn in NZ

I'm with Karen on the ABC album -- very touching! I really enjoyed looking at your heritage pages too. I haven't seen too many heritage pages that have really appealed to me before, but yours were so pretty to look at. Terrific job, Sue! Thanks for sharing.

I have to admit that I sometimes "cheat" with the handwriting! For the ABC Album, I found a script font I liked and printed out the titles for each of the pages. I used my lightbox to trace the lettering onto my pages with my Calli pens. This kept the lettering consistant from page to page and lessened my fear of making too many mistakes.
