I think they are full of hot air with their demands or about what they can expect in court, but that doesn't mean it wouldn't be a pain to deal with it. In most places I've lived, if you have vegetation going over into another person's yard (like tree limbs or roots), they can do what they want with it on their side of the property line, but that doesn't mean they can force you to do something on your side. Even if a tree on my property falls onto a neighbor's property, it's not my responsibility unless the person has sent me a certified letter showing there was a hazard. I'm not an attorney, but I would think that they will have a hard time in court, especially if they can't show any damages. Do they actually have any bamboo coming up in their yard from your grove? Or do you know if the rhizomes have crossed over? And what is all this Internet evidence they have? Just because it's on the Internet doesn't mean that it's true or that it applies to your situation. They just sound like they have a hole in their lives that they try to fill with mean-ness. It's unfortunate, but it's probably time for you to consult a lawyer to get a reality check. I don't pick unnecessary battles, but I draw the line at someone trying to force me to do something on my own property, and I sure wouldn't let some neighbor force me to remove plants that are important to me. But that's me. As they say: In the U.S. anyone can sue anybody else over anything, regardless of whether the case has any merit. I'm starting to believe that Britain has a better idea...you can sue anyone, but, if you lose, you pay their attorney's fees, too. That would choke off frivolous suits, like the one you're being threatened with. Keep us posted: I'm very interested in what develops. And good luck to you!

I guess it depends on what you used for the background of your page. If you stuck your bits and pieces onto the 'cardstock' that comes with the album, then certainly use the back of it. I tend to use other paper for the background, nearly always a sheet of coloured cardstock. Then I slip in between the album page and the page protector. Then I do the same for the other side. I wouldn't use both sides of the coloured cardstock though, because I don't think it is sturdy enough. Looking at the finished product, it is usual to open the album and see a left hand side and a right hand side. How you get to that is entirely up to you. You may choose whatever look you want to. You probably shouldn't drive yourself, but definitely get there somehow. Wonder why he said that to you? Anyway, I'm so sorry that you are feeling low and hope your trip helps with that. Thanks for the kind words, everyone. The house had a footprint of 50' X 40', so right around 2,000 square feet. It was built from a "Homes for Better Living" plan from Better Homes and Gardens. The original plans came with the house and I passed them on to the new owners. They were a bit water-damaged, but wonderful nonetheless. As for all the glass, the house was in the center of three wooded acres, so had a lot of privacy during all but the dead of winter. Even then, the two neighboring houses were above and below us. I put sheers on the bedroom windows but never put anything on the windows in the main room. The house was on part slab, part crawl space. The DR end was on grade and the LR end was about 8' off the ground with a wooden deck. The furniture was all ours -- we still have a good bit of it, including that Cushman Colonial chair, Allison. We moved to Santa Fe, NM last year. Our current home is about 1,250 square feet with a separate man cave in the finished garage. It's a sweet 1960 pueblo revival house. Hardwoods, plaster walls, vigas and wood ceilings. It's still not "done" (probably never will be, knowing my chronic decor indecision), but I'll try to get some photos up soon. We're in the midst of transforming our oddly Midwestern red brick fireplace into something more appropriate -- maybe that transformation will get me back into the swing of posting.
