Teacher and cell phone

I just found out my nieces' summer school teacher was doing prank phone calls from his cell phone for the amusement of the kids. My nieces are 10 and 8. Should I report this?

I teach in a school with 130 other teachers. So many of these warnings just fly through our school. You really cannot often tell whether they are true or not. This one seemed rather logical, but I have seen it before. You have a good heart to warn us all. Sammy

Congratulations Dee! It sounds like you are influencing people in your life not by the constant preaching some people do, but rather by educating which is far better in the long run. I've come to the conclusion almost on one likes a preacher or a tree hugger. I just wish more environmental activists would learn that lesson. I'm still not sure what impact I am having on others. I know they know I practice a lot of what we talk about out here, but I don't know if anyone is doing or even thinking about doing some of the things I do. I guess I just need more feedback from folks. Maybe this is one small success: You saw my dryer thread. Well I was telling my sister about the dead beast and my decision not to replace it. At first she thought I was crazy and started to give me all these examples of when I would need one. I calmly explained how I would handle each of the situations she suggested and also explained how little I had been using the dryer already. By the end of the conversation I think she was actually seeing my point of view - a very, very rare event for sure! Cell phone charging station - design help?

Does that make sense? Yes and no. Hole in back of drawer; outlet in wall. Okay... open drawer, put phone and charger in drawer, plug charger's cord into outlet (huh? you squiggle the charger's cord through a hole to the outlet?), and then close drawer? No no, that can't be right. Ah... all the recharging cords already run through the hole to the outlet so you just reach into the drawer and grab the right recharger and plug into your phone? Okay that sounds good... but where are those cords when the drawer is being opened and closed? (I'm seeing them squished between the drawer back and the outlet, or else being pulled back and forth through the hole.) And is it okay to leave the plugged-in charger sitting in the drawer unused [but "hot"] while the phone is in your pocket? I guess I'm missing something obvious... please pass the caffeine....

It will become harder to navigate without GPS The days of people using maps to get to the right place are almost gone. All smartphones are equipped with GPS, which helps us to reach our destination without much difficulty and wandering. Life has actually become much easier thanks to GPS, because this navigator shows us the right direction right down to the smallest turn. Therefore, in the absence of access to the global system, many people will not be able to correctly and quickly navigate in an unfamiliar area. Navigators have become such an integral part of our lives that most travel enthusiasts and those who often go on business trips can hardly imagine their lives without a smartphone with its indispensable GPS.

Was he calling people he knew? Probably. Lighten up. They were probably just having some fun. They are in summer school for crying out loud. They have got to find happiness somehow.

How would you like it if you worked with a bunch of mentally underdeveloped people who were chronic exaggerators (children in other words) and whatever they said, other people believed it and reported it straight to your boss?

If you are upset, talk to the TEACHER first. Treat the man with some respect. You would expect as much from him.

Talk to the teacher... See what was actually taking place...Don't just jump to some quick conclusion.. Find out what learning is taking place.. Get you facts then go from there.. Either pursue or drop it...

Anita and Gardenboy are right in my opinion...you should give the teacher the respect he deserves and approach him before reporting the incident, wouldn't you want (and deserve?) the same treatment yourself?

I'll bet he didn't actually dial any numbers. But I do agree that I would not report him without first discussing with him.

I also agree, discuss it with the teacher first. I also agree that he shouldn't be making crank calls, especially with the kids watching (if that's what he was doing).
